As a committed Leica M user, Alan Schaller relies on simplicity and control. Manual focus, zone focusing and hip shooting make him fast, because every decision stays with him. The Leica M EV1 adds another way to approach the M-System. Seeing the image as it will be captured provides confidence, especially when working with shallow depth of field or in changing light, where precise focus and exposure matter. Based in London, Alan often spends time photographing in Tokyo. Moving through the city, he looks for moments where something unexpected appears within everyday life. Working exclusively in black and white, he focuses on light, shadow and the small details that transform an ordinary scene.
