Leica M EV1 - Alan Schaller in Tokyo
As a committed Leica M user, Alan Schaller relies on simplicity and control. Manual focus, zone focusing and hip shooting make him fast, because every decision stays with him. The Leica M EV1 adds another way to approach the M-System. Seeing the image as it will be captured provides confidence, especially when working with shallow depth of field or in changing light, where precise focus and exposure matter. Based in London, Alan often spends time photographing in Tokyo. Moving through the city, he looks for moments where something unexpected appears within everyday life. Working exclusively in black and white, he focuses on light, shadow and the small details that transform an ordinary scene.

Joel Meyerowitz - A Conversation about Photography
In this conversation, legendary photographer Joel Meyerowitz reflects on a lifetime of seeing through the lens of the Leica M. Joined in an intimate interview at his home, he shares what has made the Leica M system his trusted companion for decades: its quiet presence, reliability, and unique ability to keep photographers connected to the flow of life. From the streets of New York to the quiet stillness of Tuscany, Joel speaks about how photography shaped not only his work, but also his identity. He opens up about the evolution of his vision, the transition from street photography to still life, and the way objects, space, and energy can come alive in front of the camera. This is a thoughtful and deeply personal conversation about instinct, observation, curiosity, and the enduring relationship between photographer and camera.

The Photographic Pursuit - Gajan Balan with the SL-System
Just past 5 AM in Delhi, Gajan Balan finds himself in a fleeting window of light, a moment filled with quiet potential before the city fully awakens. “Being in the right place is only half the story. The rest is what you do when you arrive.” It’s in these in-between moments that observation and intention come together. Gajan Balan talks about his approach to photography and how the Leica SL-System, now with Firmware Update 4.0, supports his process in the field.
