Deeply rooted in Mexican indigenous culture, her poetic, predominantly black-and-white images explore the tensions between tradition and modernity, identity and representation.
Iturbide’s “Na’ Lupe Pan” (Oaxaca, Mexico, 1986), from her “Juchitán” series, was selected as Leica Picture of the Year 2026.
