Oktoberfest with Teo Crawford
Known locally as the “Wiesn”, Munich’s Oktoberfest is the world’s largest traditional fair, a celebration that has been shaping Bavarian culture since 1810. This year, over 6.5 million visitors gathered on the Theresienwiese, sharing 6.5 million liters of beer, moments of joy, and quiet pauses amid the crowds. Photographer Teo Crawford attended with the LeicaQ3, capturing the contrasts that define the Wiesn: tradition and modernity, chaos and calm, revelry and reflection. Between the laughter and music, there were moments when the festival grounds were closed due to overcrowding and bomb threats that led to brief silences in the heart of celebration.

Shifter: Photographer to Photographer
This film was inspired by a conversation with photographer Elena Dorfman. We have been friends for years, and our professional careers have often overlapped, at least in some ways. Our talk was typical of conversations between photographers. She had just returned from an assignment in Japan and a quick trip to Albania to screen her film, which was making the rounds at film festivals. The life of a working photographer is often misunderstood, so during our chat, I had an epiphany. Why not have this conversation in public so anyone interested can join? Conversations like this happen often, but as a professional, there are certain things you can and should discuss, and other details that are better kept private. My goal is to shed some light on what being a working photographer is really like.
