Toni Schneider, CEO of Bluesky, responded to my advice, and I responded to that. Someday I hope that thread will be browsable in either app, and could be written in either app (Bluesky or RSS.chat) or any other compatible app, which basically means supporting RSS 2.0 with some new elements to get us to the next level of discourse with just a few little standards, like podcasting, but for text.
Rumor is OpenAI is launching a new agent called Aeon next week. I hope they can also finish consolidating Chat, Work, and Codex. More users will switch to Meta’s Muse if ChatGPT’s suite of products remains so disjointed. Muse already has a great, approachable brand.

Think local
Another update on the new theme editor: I added a “…” context menu with a “Show Locations” item. This will show where a template is coming from, e.g. your custom theme or a plug-in. Still can be confusing, but getting better.
I filled out the Siri AI class action settlement to get my $25 to $95. But I’m not happy about it, because for these lawsuits all I can think about is how much the lawyers are making. It’s a racket.
Is AI ruining my brain?
I am an AI skeptic/hater/slow adopter, due to a combination of concerns about the ethics and environmental impact of AI and the fact that I like doing things myself. Aaron’s talk at Papercamp opened with this:
Fun fact: Alex and I first met 19 years ago at a conference in Paris where, coincidentally, I was speaking about something I referred to as the “Papernet”. Amazingly there are no photographs, that I could find online, of either of us speaking. This is a nice passage that Jeremy Keith wrote about the event at the time.

Bruce Schneier on Systems
Bruce is one of my favorite writers. He packs profoundness. Also honored that he’s an advisor at Automattic, truly one of my idols. His blogs and books rocked my world when I was young.

Exporting LiveJournal Posts (in 2026)
I’ve attempted to log in to, or change my password for, LiveJournal several times in the last 15 years or so. It’s never worked right. My account url: artlung.livejournal.com Mostly all I used that site for was as a POSSE and PESOS target. I reposted my blog posts, and reposted summaries of my tweets there...
