Finished reading: Elsecaller / King Lopen the First by Brandon Sanderson, Dan Wells, and Isaac Stewart. Two short stories, and so they naturally felt a little rushed by Stormlight standards. Nice to fill in a missing piece with Jasnah from Words of Radiance. đź“š

I’ve been thinking about this too. I blogged years ago in February that I read or skim everything. Still mostly true, but there’s more skimming, and I no longer read unit tests.

How we document APIs. We did a lot of work on API docs this morning. Claude had done a draft, which we published, and turned over to users, and on review realized it was insufficient. That was the word I used, and rolled up my sleeves, told Claude we're going to get this stuff right and set a pattern as we go forward. At the end I asked Claude to summarize what we agreed on, and it's more or less exactly what I was aiming at. If you're working with Claude on docs for APIs, I offer this up as open source, feel free to point your Claude at this doc. I have a vested interest, in my job I read a lot of awful API docs.

The DOJ is trying to prosecute Sam Tunick for allegedly using a duress passcode. It's a lesson in why your best protection is having nothing to protect.
Just happened to notice I merged pull request #1000 for the Micro.blog backend today. About half of those are actually in the last year. I started using PRs way more often when AI could review them for me.
Watched: The Odyssey. Didn’t end up seeing it in IMAX, but hope to eventually. 🍿
