For about 7 years Typewriter Muse has been operating out of a home-like space, but this weekend they opened a lovely brick and mortar location in Riverside, CA in a nice sized business park with plenty of Doris Day parking right out front.  Their Instagram account has been documenting some of the move and set … Continue reading Grand Opening of Typewriter Muse

I gave in and reinstalled OpenClaw, but this time isolated it on its own server, with no access to anything real except its own email address. Going to experiment very slowly with it.

Kev Quirk is thinking about what will happen to his blog when he’s gone:

I’m part of the first generation that grew up online, and most of us are still very much alive. But as time marches on, more of us are going to leave behind these digital epitaphs.

a low boil

Yesterday I took the castoff carcasses of chickens past and boiled them. I added carrots, celery, onion, salt, whole peppercorns, apple cider vinegar, and a bay leaf. I boiled it over the course of a quarter-day into a rich, flavorful bone broth. When it was done, I filtered it several times and poured it into...

Great podcast interview with PSPDFKit and OpenClaw creator Peter Steinberger:

What blew my mind so much was this realization that I can build everything now. Before you had to really pick which side project you built because software is hard.

Watched: Arco. I really enjoyed this. Some of the comedic parts didn’t work for me, but it’s a unique film and there are some moments that I absolutely loved. 🍿

Watching the end of Spurs / Hornets. The refs made the right call here on the challenge, but overall the rule change to protect 3-point shooters' feet when they land has been taken too far. It’s being gamed, making defense too difficult. 🏀

AI strategy for 2026

I was cautious with our initial AI adoption in Micro.blog. There’s a global opt-out checkbox to hide any feature that uses AI. All background tasks check this setting before they touch an LLM. I thought this was important for folks who are philosophically opposed to AI. The ...

Everyone should at least skim through some of the posts on Moltbook. Whether you’re an AI skeptic, or a programmer, or just curious. I’m not saying it’s good or bad… Value judgements don’t even matter right now. Everything is crazy and the future is up for grabs.

Next year I have to go to FOSDEM. This year's conference going on right now, in Brussels. If you're there and reading this -- say a hello for me. I realize the piece I wrote yesterday about the future of the social web is equally relevant now for FOSDEM. My prescription: car...

Added a note to the storage docs page for wpIdentity, explaining that while most files we serve are private, there are examples of files we manage that are public. It had been a while since I reviewed this page. I also see now that we have to have a way to identify the app that created an object, and for that we'll need a way to identify apps. I knew that was coming sooner or later.
