A great scene from The West Wing. Use your imagination, something similar is probably happening right now.

Experimental June: week three
This is a silly and inconsequential thing to rant about, but… What is the point of crushed ice? It melts too quickly. I understand it for Sonic and Chick-fil-a, but not for a coffee shop. 🤪
Yesterday my kids asked why I was snapping a photo of a construction site where a restaurant used to be, and I had to think… I like taking pictures of things that will change.
It’s going to be too easy to hate on Tesla’s robotaxi rollout. I’m a little sympathetic to a single mistake overshadowing all the rides that are fine, but this tech is clearly inferior to Waymo. It’s a very, very small area in Austin that Tesla is operating in. No excuse for being in the wrong lane.

"Substack's One Weird Marketing Trick was leveraging the economic interests of traditional media employees against their publishers to get positive "earned media"."
Live
Ever since Salter Cane recorded the songs on Deep Black Water I’ve been itching to play them live. At our album launch gig last Friday, I finally got my chance.
It felt soooo good! It helped that we had the best on-stage sound ever (note to the bands of Brighton, Leon at the Hope and Ruin is fantastic at doing the sound). The band were tight, the songs sounded great live, and I had an absolute blast.
I made a playlist of songs to be played in between bands. It set the tone nicely. As well as some obvious touchstones like 16 Horsepower and Joy Division, I made sure to include some local bands we’re fond of, like The Equitorial Group, Mudlow, Patients, and The Roebucks.

The High Stakes of Biometric Surveillance
"There are clear indications from oppressive governments around the world that biometrics will be used to harm human rights, regardless of their accuracy or fairness."
Dan Knauss, one of the organizers of WordCamp Canada, wrote a post on their blog using WordLand. This is wonderful! Look at the screen shot at the top of the page. That's the whole point of WordLand. It gets out of your way and let's you write for your WordPress site.

One more thing about the linkblog, it no longer cross-posts to social media sites. I want to see if I miss having the links there. It also won't have the limits. Maybe it'll be better if my accounts are a bit more quiet. Also the RSS feed is in a new location, I want to wait a bit to make sure it works before distributing the URL.
