Since I am in a color phase right now, I might as well keep it going for a little while. Took this on my way to Parkleuchten during blue hour, but it didn't fit in with the other images. Also, throwback to this photo from a couple of weeks ago.
A blog where Florian tries to post one photo per day.

Went to Parkleuchten again with the family and a couple of friends today. It wasn't quite as packed as yesterday so I had some more room to photograph. The first installation is really cool. Glad I was able to capture the tiny lights projected onto the ceiling. Lumi brought her camera as well and took this great portrait of me. β€οΈ

Went to Parkleuchten today. They have a couple of new, interesting installations and I am looking forward to going back with the kids, hopefully tomorrow. I was shooting in my usual b/w, but I must be realistic here: These images just need color. π€·ββοΈ
Jasper finished his 365 project today. Congrats! π I have no idea how he takes photos and also writes as much as he does every day, but I am here for it.

Pretty full day today. Only got out with the camera quite late. Parkleuchten is on again. Hope I can make it this weekend β the weather looks promising. π€
Very thankful for the kind words I got for finishing another full year of daily posting. π Reminder that you can still have a chance to get a zine or a print. Details here.

Suvi had her school entrance examination today. She was quite nervous but handled all the little assignments and tests very well. Proud parent over here. (Although the whole idea of evaluating a child's abilities in 20 minutes is kinda moot, imho, but I guess they have to do something.)
Oh, yeah: Another 365 days of daily posting β successful! π― In a couple of minutes you'll find a post about this third completion over on the other blog. I've written down some thoughts and β as a means of celebration β I am giving away a couple of zines and prints. π₯³ Check out the details.

I deliberately arrived a bit earlier for kindergarten pickup, so I had time for a twenty-minute walk in the nearby woods. It felt good to be back outside again.
This is a special stats day for me. The three longest posting streaks are now 366, 365, and 364 days. Come to think of it, the next two days will be special as well: tomorrow I'll finish another year of daily posting, the day after, the longest streaks will be 367, 366, and 365 days. Still contemplating how to properly celebrate this milestone. I might have a couple of giveawaysβ¦ π€

I am on the mend, still not 100% but getting there. It is quite hard to take photographs when I'm doing the morning commute by car. It also sucks, because it takes much longer than using the bike. Fingers crossed I am back on the bike before the week ends! π€

Made it out of the house (barely) to get Ulya to her exam this morning. The reliability of Deutsche Bahn gets even worse β if that is even possible β when there is snow, so the car it was. She passed! π (Two more to go this semester.)

View from the bed, where I stayed for most of the day.

It's gonna be a slow weekend. Feeling a bit sick, so I was stuck indoors, despite the nice weather. Hope this will pass quickly. π€ (Photo from a couple of days ago.)

Photography-wise it was a bleak day, hence the boring image of a Raspberry Pi above. On days like this I tend to post more diary-style photographs that have no artistic aspiration whatsoever. But they are still valuable in that they function as markers: The day I set up my first Pi-hole. π€·ββοΈ

Taught her about long exposures today, standing on a bridge with the cars going by below. She actually asked me about it, and even though she was quite small back then, she remembered us creating this long exposure image.

Took a nice evening stroll and brought the Leica. It's been a while. I think I am getting lazy, the Fuji is just so convenient and easy. I definitely see differently between the two cameras though, if that makes sense. The above scene caught my eye when I already had my shot(s) for today, but in the end found these sharply illuminated, twisted branches to be more visually interesting.

Oh boy. Not a fan, but then again, very grateful for modern dentistry β no one wants Cast Away-level dental care. Thankfully, just some old fillings replaced today, no ice skates required.
Just ten more days and I will have completed my third (!) full year of daily posting! (Not in a row, but stillβ¦ π)

Doors. One more image from yesterday. It didn't really fit with the other images, but I still like it, so here it is.

Gruga visit with the kids. We walked a lot. To Suvi's dismay, all the chip shops in the park were closed. I guess we need to find french fries somewhere else later. Looking at my photographs, I was apparently fascinated by the contrails in the sky today.
Update: Kevin also looked up today.

My brain is empty. Lots of work today. I don't want to spend another second in front of the computer. So here, just the image, no context. π₯±

Nice evening walk. Found this rabbit drawing on a bridge's glass railing. I waited for a few cars to pass underneath so it was backlit.

Another henna session. Tried some new lines and patterns. Still a bit awkward to "draw" with those squishy cones, but I guess it's just practice.

Observing light and shadow.

Another two images from yesterday's Gruga visit. The light was particularly nice around the owl enclosure and this guy was positioned perfectly β although he seemed a little sleepy. Good thing I brought the long lens.

Winter photo excursion to Gruga with my daughter. Temperatures were crisp, but we brought hot tea. The pond was frozen solid in most places and the parrots looked very cold.

Late afternoon walk. Just a couple of things I found visually interesting along the way.

The remaining snow looked really sad earlier today. Regular ol' Essen winter weather is back, it seems.

Feeling a bit under the weather today, so I'll go ahead and get this daily posting thing out of the way, by sharing a couple images from yesterday, these ones from our snow-covered backyard.
Speaking of new blogs. This one is not new, but newly designed. YiΔit has been posting daily for the last week. Let's show him some love, so he's motivated to keep it going!

Even more snow today. I took lots of images on my way back from the office.
My friend Daniel created a new photography related site: He's posting one polaroid a day. Beautifully done!

Headlights.
Not much to report. Back at work since yesterday after the between-years break. The snow is holding out. Lumi has another day off tomorrow, then everything will be back on the regular schedule β which does not really exist.

The sun rises in the east.

We went ice skating today. (Wanted to for the past two days, but with the fresh snow coming in, we decided otherwise.) It was incredibly packed. Not sure if they have an actual limit for the number of people they allow on the ice, but I am sure it must have been close. The rental skates were atrocious and our feet hurt after two hours, but the kids had fun anyway β which is what matters! (Funny, while writing this I had dΓ©jΓ vu, which turned out not to be imagined. π)
