Over the holiday period I created Chromacode. A visual identity system for my work inspired by Peter Saville’s Blue Monday cover. Read about it here brendandawes.com/chromacode/ or see it in action in any project page on my site.

Under the Skin is one of my all time fave films and I’ve just read the incredible book. Glazer’s film centre’s on the main character whilst Faber’s book is much more detailed. A book that will stay with me for a long time.

Both myself and Gary Hustwit are thrilled to be finalists in the Aesthetica Art Prize 2025. We’re thrilled to be featured alongside such a stellar line-up of artists. The work will be running live non-stop from 19th September at York Art Gallery where you can see all the short-listed works.

“Whether crafting 3D-printed sculptures from motion data or visualising digital memories, Dawes’s work is a reminder that digital tools can be used to reveal — not erase — the human presence.” https://artplugged.co.uk/art-digital-world-human-after-all/

Lovely write up following the Japanese premiere of Eno. https://note.com/akiko_saito/n/nee0970f844a6?fbclid=IwQ0xDSwK8tehleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHtj2x0m6e3hwnqN1iP11ZSSjHgpidOYk46Wf7OOOgjIQyRUISWqR4q4sO3eE_aem_dgZRJoYliZXAwHwm5Amkmw

One of the many reasons I love @getkirby.com is how easy it is to spin up an API I can then use for other things, like an algorithmic publication about my 25 years of work, all the data driven from my website, via Kirby.

Myself and Gary Hustwit are thrilled to learn Nothing Can Ever Be The Same — the real-time generative work based on the archive of Brian Eno which first premiered at the 2023 Venice Music Biennale has been shortlisted for the Aesthetica Art Prize! Huge thanks to the jury for shortlisting our work.
