Ha! I found it … it was the subtle drop shadows. Illustrator selects the object whose drop shadow you click on. OMG. 😂 #ama

I mean: I’m trying to sort atoms here!! 🤪
Illustrator is so broken these days. It regularly gets the mouse pointer position wrong, selecting the object next to the one I’m actually hovering over. 😕 The same goes for InDesign, which just shows a gray screen instead of my document whenever I unplug my external display to work in another room.
Reality Awaits!
And yes, it uses a vocoder throughout.
Bonus points if you don’t have to look it up. 😁
