TA-DA! This is v0.8 of my neon-Norbot virtual pinball table! I’ve taken the digital recreation of a skate-themed 1990 Bally pinball called ‘Radical’ and rethemed it as ‘Gnarlybot’, the fluro-soaked design I created for the Gromit Unleashed 3 charity arts trail! #virtualpinball #vpinball #aardman

Oh BOY I am SO stoked on tonight’s passion project progress… I created the ‘backglass’ for my vpin and connected it up to the code of the game so all those lights trigger as the ROM tells it to! 😍

Flippin’ proud of this one… design of my ‘Gnarlybot’ virtual pinball table ‘playfield’ is pretty much done, bar a few little graphic tweaks!! Onto the design of the rest of the virtual cabinet now!

Last night I installed ‘SSF’ into my virtual pinball cabinet - surround sound haptic speakers - and it really sounds/feels like a pinball is rolling around, hitting bumpers and flippers, it’s RAD!

My playfield design is SO close to being finished! Managed a lil’ session on design last night on the sofa thanks to the Vision Pro!

Started work on designing the ‘Backglass’ part of my virtual pinball table, where the scores go. First things first, making a beautiful production still of ‘Norbot’ turn into ‘Gnarlybot’ via good old layer masks, adjustment layers and shape blends!

Work’s super busy and at night I’ve been juggling a few passion projects so haven’t had any time for vpinball… until tonight!

Thanks to my friend Liz, who created this awesome “kickflippin’ chicken” illustration, I’ve now got a bit of Feathers action going on in my virtual pinball table. That grey skull ‘grip tape’ will actually have a flashing pinball light behind it, so it should look rad!

Man, this beauty hasn’t aged a day! I LOVE the pomposity and indulgence of Godspeed so much. 20 minute songs, unsearchable album names, album artwork with zero information on it, no press or interviews. I love it all. ❤️

I am STOKED on my latest progress with ‘GNARLYBOT’ - my reskin of the 1990 pinball table ‘Radical!’. The past 3 nights I’ve put in a tonne of work to make the playfield and plastics all custom (with still a lot more to do!) but I am really thrilled with how it’s looking!!

It’s alive! Well, a very rough first-pass at ‘Gnarlybot’ - my reskin of the 1990 Bally pinball table ‘Radical!’. Lots and lots and lots still left to do, but it feels rad to replace a few big images and see what needs attention (all of it!). Feels rad though!
