A blog where Florian tries to post one photo per day.

Wrapped.

Early morning sparrow. (From a couple of days ago.)

New night lights.

Spent lots of time outside today! Spring is my favorite season by far.

Pretty full week. Glad to be heading into the weekend. π Took half an hour today to wander around an area I haven't been before I picked up the girls from gymnastics class.

Observing color.

I think they are cleaning the facade.
So happy when I get the day's photograph early, because it is hard to find time to shoot now that Ulya has eight or ten (!) hour days. I am trying a new routine: getting up before everyone else to get some work done. This is quite the challenge, because I have forever been a night person: 2 am is usually when my creative juices flow. (At least back when I didn't have kids. π)

If there's no time to go out to shoot you just have to make do with what is available. In today's case: The cherry tree right outside of our kitchen window (which has been featured before). I wanted to take a boring cherry blossom photograph, but a couple of bumblebees (and the afternoon light) fortunately made it more interesting.
In other news I bought a car today. A very small one. Used, of course. All online. If everything works out, we'll get it early next week. I'd rather not own a car, but Ulya's commute come May will be nearly impossible without one.

We stocked up on beans today. (That is a children's shopping cart btw, not ginormous bean cans.)

Took a couple of images today, but didn't really like any of them. So one more from yesterday's Gruga visit. The cherry trees were in full bloom, a bit of wind created a shower of blossoms. πΈ

Family trip to Gruga. Finally the deer enclosure was open for visitors. We tried many times before, but were never lucky. (I recently learned that these animals are cared for by volunteers, so the opening hours are more of a suggestion.) Anyway, we purchased a small bag of corn which the kids used to feed the deer.

Observing light and reflections.

Sometimes you just have to make time for photography. (Well, at least I need to!) So this morning I took half an hour to head into Gruga after dropping off the kids. Initially I wanted to photograph the herons again, but since I only brought the 56mm, I went to the parrots instead. I've written about them before. Always fascinating to look at.
We managed to handle the first week of uni very well, I think. The real classes start next week for Ulya and her curriculum is a doozy. (There are 10 hour days!) We'll manage somehowβ¦ π€

Kinetic sand is a favorite in our household.

Some fluffy clouds above A41.

Ulya started university today and everything is a bit chaotic as a result. We need to find a new normal in terms of organizing our life, which might take a while, I recon. No dedicated photography time during the week. Hoping for the weekend! π€
Ulya texted me through her first day of orientation, when she also met her fellow students: "They still have their braces!" β I almost spit out my tea when this one came in. π

Didn't do much today. Which is totally fine.

We attended a school dance performance today. Kids were training all week for different routines and they did very well. Lots of phones were out, while the performances were going on.

Office plant.

Ice cream & shuttle service.
Watched the Fujifilm X Summit this morning. They're clearly inspired by Apple's Keynotes, but kind of amateurish (in comparison) in their execution. This is not meant as an insult, btw. I enjoy their stilted presentations β I think they come across more honest β and I am a fan of the company and their products. The new GFX100RF looks intriguing, though F4 is kind of a deal breaker. (In addition to the price tag.)

At the office there are still some leftovers from carnival, more than two weeks later!

Nice sunset light on A41 this evening.

Allergy test yielded: no allergies. π

Sidewalk chalk.

Took the above photo while waiting for my train at ZΓΌrich main station. I caught all connecting trains and am now on my last leg. While the first connection was the shortest distance ever β it took me exactly 20 steps from my seat, out of the train, across the platform into the other train to my seat β the second transfer was a bit hectic and involved running. Eh, the force needs to balance itself out, I guess.

Had a great day talking shop with Claudio. We also went for a stroll to get some food and, rather by accident, ended up wandering into some of the less scenic parts of ZΓΌrich.

Spent a couple of hours in Basel today. Hand a great time hanging out with some of the WCEU organizers and walking around the city. Remnants of carnival were still very visible everywhere.

I got nothing.

Lots of stuff going on today and no dedicated photography time, so A41 to the rescue. Took this from the bike while waiting for the traffic light to turn green. π€·ββοΈ
