I just had a look at the stats and relized that this marks post number 1.600, which sounds absolutely crazy to me. 🤯
A blog where Florian tries to post one photo per day.

Obligatory elevator selfie. Same spot as last year. (It was warmer then.) Anyway, back to work today, though I managed to get a little bit of editing time in for the btconf photos. Hope I'll have them ready early next week. 🤞

Some of my favorite images from day two at beyond tellerrand 2025 in Düsseldorf. Speakers were Matthias Ott, Gustavo Ferrari, Cyd Stumpel, Vitaly Friedman, Amber Case and Sharon Steed. Thank you Marc for having me. It was lovely as always. ❤️ The full gallery will be available soon, so stay tuned.

Fantastic day one at beyond tellerrand 2025 in Düsseldorf. Here are a couple of my favorite images from today feat. speakers Paula Zuccotti, Léonie Watson, Jason Pamental, Martina Flor, Brendan Dawes and Gavin Strange.

Made it to Düsseldorf for beyond tellerrand. Looking forward to two days of inspiring talks – and of course some documentary photography! 🙌

Late evening practice drive for Ulya. (She's ready!) Took some photos along the way.

Idk, this building in its wrapping somehow fascinates me. Also I drive by here every morning and the light looked interesting.

It was a public holiday here in Germany today and the weather was great, so we spent lots of time in the backyard. Photo from yesterday.

Observing color.
I've been thinking about adding an archive to this here blog. I still need to do some more thinking…

Third and (most likely) final post with images from Sunday's visit to the Tetraeder.

Daniel and I visited the Tetraeder in Bottrop today. Dedicated photography time! 🥹 I only took the Leica and the 35mm – I usually like to keep my choices to a minimum. I had been here only once before three years ago, but it definitely won't be the last time. It is such an interesting structure and we spent at least two hours up there. Definitely a challenge for anyone with a fear of heights.
I'll spread the photos over a couple of days, which will make my life a bit easier this coming week. 🙂

I took over a hundred photos of her making soap bubbles on the balcony today. ❤️

Came down with a head cold outta nowhere. Spent the whole day in bed. ☹️ Usually the kids bring it home and then the inevitable happens, but this time everyone else is fine. 🤷♂️ The weather was attrocious anyway, so here's a golden hour photograph of A41 from a couple of days ago.

New kicks for my daugther. Her first Chucks.

Mirror, mirror. No photography time (again) today, so another one from last weekend. Looking forward to the upcoming weekend, as there might be some dedicated photography time in the cards. 🤞 Also: beyond tellerrand is coming up in two weeks. There are still tickets left!

Dominoes.
Made it back home after a very chill weekend at my parents'.

Balcony still life.

Tried my hands on a GFX today. Not that I necessarily need speedy autofocus – I've been mostly focussing manually for the last several years, but the 100S felt kinda sluggish. Also, I thought shutter lag was a thing of the past? The images are gorgeous, though, incredible detailed! And I played around with the in-camera apsect ratios, as you can see above. 65:24 is very cool, makes me want to experiment more with a panoramic format in the future.
Fun fact: I had to update a bit of CSS so that these images are displayed properly (centered). I think I ever only posted 3:2 images… 🤔

Spending some time at my parents' over the weekend.

Spoon.

Got nothing today, so when I just sat down to post a photo, I saw these tools on my desk. I bought this pipe wrench today, because I had to fix both of the faucets we have in our home. Come to think of it, we had lots of things break down recently. The weirdest was our oven door handle, which broke in two. 🤷♂️ Glued it back together, let's see how long it will last. 🤞

No photos today, so I'll just share this one from a couple of days ago.

Horses again. School's out and my daugher wanted go to the stables again. Unfortunately she came down with conjunctivitis over her first morning there, so the coming days are in questions. 😢

Hand.

Observing light and shadow; and color.

Seesaw.

Quak quak got wings!

More of the same. Love the light in the morning and I pass this place everyday, so…
