I swear I have made this image in a different season, but I wasn't able to find it just now. I really wanted to link to it. Maybe I look again tomorrow… Update: I found it! Slightly different perspective.
A blog where Florian tries to post one photo per day.

I swear I have made this image in a different season, but I wasn't able to find it just now. I really wanted to link to it. Maybe I look again tomorrow… Update: I found it! Slightly different perspective.

Got this one early, during my morning commute.

It has been really hard to find the time to make images these last couple of days. Really looking forward to some vacation time at the end of the month.

She used a sewing machine for the first time today!

Tubes.

Stephen is currently visiting from Scotland.

Took part in a photowalk organized by Foto Erhardt (formerly Frankenberg, where I bought my trusty M years ago) earlier today. Tested a Voigtländer 28mm F2.0 Ultron, which I used for all of the images above. (I forgot to set the lens/focal length in the camera settings, so this info is missing in the metadata.) I don't like doing in-depth reviews or "test" shots, I'd rather go by feeling, so: This lens feels incredibly sharp! I am impressed. Thanks David, for the introduction to the brand and the friendly conversation!

What a beautiful object. About to send it back…

Went to the Christmas market with the kids. Much less crowded than expected, which was nice! But prices for everything, especially food, are out of this world. The Christmas ball ornament in the last photo unfortunately wasn't that clear so the reflection of us is not really sharp. I still like it and I love shots like this in general!

Another one of those days where I didn't get any interesting pictures, so I am sharing this image of Tiny (the dog) from Sunday. We had her visit before, a couple of times last year, when she was even more… tiny.
I am thinking of opening up the archive to the public. I have been working on it recently, made it work on mobile, and added pagination.

Observing color.

Took the photo above when I picked up my daughter from her friend's birthday party.

I started a new photo project today. I wanted to do this for years at this point, and today it finally kicked off! I'll keep this one close to the vest for now, so you only get the teaser image above – though I am very happy with today's yield. 🙂 The plan is to build up a portfolio of images before I decide what exactly I want to do with them. (A book or at least a zine is a very likely outcome.) I'll keep you posted!

I managed to find a couple of images from yesterday that I don't hate. One interesting thing to note is that the lowest ISO across the images above is 4000 – the highest is 25,000! (Not sure why I do not show the ISO in the meta data, probably gonna fix that some time.) This is really amazing! I wish I could have used the Monochrom in Berlin for beyond tellerrand. Oh well…
Anyway, I remembered that I built this audio feature, which I never use. Thought I'd capture the Heat atmosphere for a couple of seconds. Press P to play (or click the audio icon)! 🙂
🔈 This post also contains an audio companion track. Listen to it on the website

It was a cold and rainy morning. The kids couldn't be bothered though, because even though we were on a bike, they had a roof over their heads. 🙂

I am already tired of the gloomy days. Only 34 days until the days start getting longer again…

Went for a long walk this afternoon, and ended up at the Christmas market, which coincidentally happened to open today. I really enjoy photographing there, with the lights and everything. Note to self: I should do this more often.

Parkting lot vista.

The fact that I hadn't taken any photos came to me while waiting at the last intersection before home, so I snapped the above images while waiting for the light to turn green. 🤷♂️

Crazy full day today – didn't get anything good, but I passed the flock a couple of times, so here's an image from a couple of days ago.

St. Martin's Lantern procession at school.
I wisely took two cameras today. The little one was already very tired when we left, so when carrying her on my shoulders, it is much easier to use a camera with autofocus! 🙂

St. Martin's Lantern procession at kindergarten. Luckily the weather wasn't as shite as last year's.
In other news, I was asked to participate in Hyde's Over/Under series. You can find my topics and ratings at Over/Under #41. Please tell me I am not the only one who's not a fan of ice cream…

Afternoon walk along the neighborhood.
Got lots of lovely feedback for the beyond tellerrand images, which feels great because I love documenting the event. Thanks, everyone!

Observing color, mirror selfie, same elevator.
More importantly: The full beyond tellerrand gallery is now live!

Here are some of my favorite images from day two at beyond tellerrand 2025 in Berlin featuring speakers Andy Bell, Ana Rodrigues, Lucy Blakiston, Jared Ficklin and Astrid Bin. I had a great time as always! The full gallery will be available soon. Stay tuned!

Awesome first day at beyond tellerrand 2025 in Berlin. Here are some of my favorite images featuring speakers Thorsten Jonas, Jo Franchetti, Adam Argyle, Sacha Judd, Brad Frost and Cabeza Patata.

Very nice colors in the sky for a very short period of time, just when I arrived at the hotel.
