Spent some time at the playground today. (Finally, after my mother-in-law's move took almost 100% of our time over the last few days, we could do something fun!)

Another movie night – this time in a proper cinema. I can't even remember the last time I went to the cinema, must have been years! We saw "The End of Oak Street". I was entertained.

Back to the regular daily grind, I guess. Well not fully: I still have a couple of days off work – and tomorrow is my birthday! 🙂 Did a long walk to and through Gruga today.

Today was a travel day. Made it back home safely and smoothly. (No carsickness for the little one! 🙌) Above: an assortment of color images from this past week.

Perfect weather for a final day at the beach!
I should mention this more often: I am in the process of finishing my 10th anniversary zine – to celebrate this blog turning 10 years old in just a couple of days (on the 26th). The format will be the same as my 366 zines. If that sounds like something you'd like to own, let me know! I'll have more info soon.

Spent the first half of the day at the Marine Museum, which has an actual submarine (the Tonijn) you can walk through (and lie in the bunks). It was very dark inside, many blurry images (I like this one, though). Lots of interactivity for the kids. A good place to spend a rainy day. My favorite was the mock-white shark around a random corner! Of course we had to get closer and take some shark portraits.

Took a trip to Texel today, visited Ecomare, saw the baby seals and the lighthouse at the northern tip of the island. Shot photographed lots of seagulls that were flying along the ferry on the way to and from the island.

Spent the morning inside and the afternoon at an indoor swimming pool. Had some dedicated photography time to myself in the evening, hence more photos from the beach. (Please bear with me while I savor being at the ocean. 🙂)

Another day at the beach. We had some light rain, but nothing our beach tents couldn't handle!
I am in the process of finalizing the images for the 10th anniversary zine! It is currently at 132 pages and 90+ photos, which span across the last (first) 10 years of this here blog. I started writing a little preamble today, a short intro. Not sure this is something others are interested in having. If so – let me know!

Spent another day at the beach. (I could get used to that!) Loved the light and the colors today, thus – a color post. 🤷♂️ I brought some more gear on this trip – as in a couple of longer lenses – because, why not?! No need to travel light, when going by car – but I haven't taken that much equipment in a long time. Usually it's down to one or two prime lenses and that's it. Happy I made that choice.

Vacation has officially started. 🥳 We made it to another ocean (after 21 weeks). The weather forecast for the coming week is not super great, but I take it – it was dry long enough. And some clouds in the sky make for more dramatic images anyway! Looking forward to an easy photo blogging week. 😊

Really second guessing myself with these photos recently. What is the point? I need to find time to make more photographs. I have often talked about intentionality, but recently it has been mostly just capturing anything that looks vaguely interesting and hoping that I at least have something at the end of the day. That is not why I created this blog. So I guess, I'll either manage to carve out more time for taking photographs or I'll drag something out of the archive that I am proud of. (I am not quitting the blog!) Looking very much forward to travelling at the end of next week. This will make this some much easier. Can't wait!

Watched this nice video about the #fuji 35mm 1.4 lens, which is probably my favorite Fuji lens (the 56mm 1.2 is very close, though) – but not enough to get a tattoo of its lens diagram. 😆
