Observing color. Always a fascinating spot to photograph.
A blog where Florian tries to post one photo per day.

Observing color. Always a fascinating spot to photograph.

The zines are here! π± Bought a special pen for signing earlier today. The rest of the envelopes for shipping will arrive tomorrow. If all goes to plan, everything should be out of the door on Friday at the latest. Thanks for your patience, I can't wait for you to get your hands on them.

Nice weather + fall break, so the girls and I spent a couple of hours at Gruga today. I've been using the 27mm more and more, mainly because I love the very compact pancake size. It is also pretty sharp. Maybe I am going to get used to 40mm (full frame equivalent) after allβ¦

We had a great weekend with the family. Took the photos above, while waiting for our train at Heidelberg main station. Now posting this from the train, which was on time. (Not kidding! I hope I didn't jinx the rest of the trip, now that I've said it. π)
The WordPress drama keeps intensifying by the day. I fear that the damage done will affect the community for years to come. What a shame.

Went to the fair today. It's called Kerwe in this part of Germany, whereas the term Kirmes is generally used. Cotten candy was had, as well as a couple of carousel rides. Kids are happy! π

Had a lovely time at WordCamp Karlsruhe today. No drama, just a friendly buch of community members. Thanks to everyone involved!

Waiting for our train at Essen main station. 20 minutes delay at the end of our trip was probably the least we had this whole year!
Heading to WordCamp Karlsruhe tomorrow. Really curious about the mood, with all the drama going on currently.

New perspective on A41, from the dentist's waiting room (through the window during heavy rain).

Observing shadows (while waiting for my connecting train at Duisburg main station). Took this on my way to the Kirby Community NRW Meetup organized by Benedict and Chris from Present Progressive. Thanks, guys! Impressive talk by Georg Obermayr about what he and his team built with Kirby.
In other news: I ordered the project 366 part I zines today! Thanks again to the eight people who ordered a copy! β€οΈ

Observing (lots of) color.
Sent out an email to the fine people, who subscribed to the newsletter, to tell them how to order the first 366 zine. At the time of this post, I received orders from Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Lithuania, Canada and the US. π± This is so cool! You all made my day! Thank you. π

1.000 trees for Essen.

Cutting it close today! (It's almost 24:00.) π¬

Out taking photographs with Daniel again. We went to Gruga this time and took the kids. As luck would have it, there was a bird of prey flight show in the afternoon.

Today was definitely a stay-inside kinda day. Not many photos at all.

Took only a handful of images today. It was between this one above, which I took during my commute and an image of my tv, while I am playing Echos of Wisdom. Talking about Zelda: I am about two hours in. The game mechanics are so much fun!
Also this marks yet another quarter done! One more β or 92 days β to go!

Waiting for the bus.
We took a short trip to visit my wife's extended family today. As we didn't make it to Turkey this year (for the first time since 2019), I wasn't able to continue my Aile project. This was an opportunity to at least add a couple of pictures without traveling too far.

Goat.

Observing light and shadow.
Yesterday I was complaining about the rain, but this morning it was actually quite nice, so I stopped by Gruga for a short (photo) walk before heading to the office.
Leica released a new full-frame camera yesterday, that comes with a fixed 43mm lens. I've never gotten used to this weird in-between-35-and-50 focal length. Whenever I use the 27mm pancake on my X-T5 (which is a ~40mm equivalent) and lift up the camera to my eye, I am always surprised that I am either too close or too far away from the subject. I am so used to either 35 or 50, that I know exactly where to stand even before raising the camera to take the photo. 40, however, always trips me up.

The wet season is upon us. Not a fanβ¦
That being said: I am pretty well equipped, when it comes to rain gear. Only thing missing is something to protect my eyes/face during heavy rain. I know there are bike helmets with visors. Do you, dear reader, have any recommendations or other ideas in that regard? Please let me know.

Early morning Gruga walk.
Half-way done with the the second newsletter to go out at the end of the week, where I will talk about how I created the 366 zine.

The Flock is watching.

Observing light and shadow. Busy day ahead, so let's get today's post out there early!

Hanging out in the neighbors' backyard.

Ah, the weekend. Ulya and the kids spent much of the day outside and I found some time to work on the zine a bit more.

Pretty hectic day. The main reason was, that the bike had a flat tire, just when it was time to pick up the kids. I had to scramble on foot and by subway to get them in time.
Thanks so much to the people who signed up for the project 366 zine "newsletter" list. I made the finishing touches on the zine today and I'll send out a first update via email soon!

Someone left two boxes full of toys at the playground. They were put to good use right away.

Spray painted wall and ivy. The kind of scene you find, when crawling through the bushes while collecting chestnuts.
I created a proper page for the project 366 zine, with some more info the content and pricing.
