In Mastodon, if you write more, you get more attention. My feed is full of the same 5 people and the toots of very interesting people get lost in the noise. Is this not what we wanted to leave behind?

Do we need algorithms to sort it out for us? How could we implement them, control them and keep them transparent? Is this something the server hosts should decide, or every user for themselves?
