Yeah but can it run Black Myth Wukong tho? [contains quote post or other embedded content]
I’ve been designing, modelling and printing a button enclosure for my virtual pinball table! This sorta stuff isn’t normally what I excel (maths an’ that) but I’m really proud of it so far! The middle section printed great, now waiting on a 9.5hr print for the side bits! 🤞
Man, I love shooting film. Just got a roll back from the lab and it came with stuff I'd forgotten I'd shot from summer last year! Little memories captured on silver halide crystals, I love it. ❤️📸
The new LORNA SHORE album just dropped and it is beautifully brutal. My face is well and truly melted 🖤 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwp_VF9rDC8&list=RDjwp_VF9rDC8&start_radio=1
Spent the night installing myself a few classic virtual pinball tables! Fish Tales (1992), Police Force (1989), Cirqus Voltaire (1997) and Lethal Weapon 3 (1992)
I also designed & 3D printed some supports to hold my TV at 10 degrees!
My favourite table at the minute is the ‘LED’ mod of Creature From The Black Lagoon. It scratches all my glowey neon itches and looks perfect in my den!!
More virtual pinball fun! Got the table running well in 4K with all the bells & whistles at a stable 60FPS/HZ! Now starting to think about a custom cabinet build with the help of my good friend Jack!
Great progress on the virtual pinball project tonight! New PSU and GPU installed thanks to the kind skills and patience of @jamieandlion.bsky.social (Get well soon mate!) and now VPX is running super well with no button lag at all! Also installed a VESA mount on the telly to angle it 5 degrees too!
At the very top of Adobe Illustrator is this box: "Be an illustrator without doing any illustration work!" Why is Adobe so keen to do away with the very same people who use its products? Just fuck OFF with this shit, seriously.
Yes!! Zack & the greens saying it out loud. Things are shit, but they can be better. ✊💚 [contains quote post or other embedded content]
Stoked on tonight progress! I now have buttons to control my virtual pinball table! It’s in a rough-as-rats prototype cardboard housing but it does the job! And there’s the big input lag but hopefully that’ll be helped with a new GPU! Next step: using a vesa mount to put the screen on an angle!
It’s alive!!! The Virtual Pinball install went well… it was just a very late night! Straight away I discovered my GPU wasn’t really up to the job but thanks to @jamieandlion.bsky.social to the rescue, it’ll be getting a beefy upgrade soon!
Falling deeper down that virtual pinball rabbithole! Ordered myself a 43” 4K screen for my playfield and have gotten lost admiring all the amazing tables have been made / recreated / updated by the scene! Can’t wait to load them up and give ‘em a try! Just look how good this Godzilla one is!
Aha! My #virtualpinball journey begins! Dug out my old streaming PC and managed to find all the necessary cables to get it hooked back up! It's got a NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000 8GB GPU so I'm hoping that'd be enough to run some tables? Let's see!
I've been diving deep down the rabbithole of virtual pinball recently, and despite any useful woodworking or electronics skills, I feel like i'm gravitating towards it and can't look away! I'm on Discord's and Reddit's and everything! This is going to end expensively isn't it? https://media.tenor.com/qmU3WdP0vGkAAAAC/pinball-hurricane.gif?hh=311&ww=498
‘What the Car?’ on Vision Pro is stupidly good fun! Pure maximalist silliness and I am HERE for it!
Just published a new blog! Grab a cuppa / ice lolly and give it a read: https://blog.jam-factory.com/roundup-019-heard-chef/
I made a digital card counterpart for my ‘BroBot-5000’ 3D printed toy, made using @splinetool.bsky.social ✨⚡️ ( Get your own physical toy at strangekids.toys )
Back in 2019 I was lucky enough to design & direct the end credits sequence for Aardman's second Shaun the Sheep movie 'Farmageddon'. I just found a bunch of my original style frames:
I use the 'Shifting Tiles' screensaver on Mac OS and point it to a folder that contains over 3,000 beautiful images of amazing work by amazing humans that I've collected over the years. The screensaver is set to come on after 2 minutes so there's always a fresh buffet of inspiration in my eyeballs!
I’ve made my own 3D printed art toy - ‘BroBot-5000’ 👍🤖 Get yours over at mine and my kids DIY ‘Toy Company’ www.strangekids.toys
Been printing out more ‘BroBot-5000’s at home, as I’m gonna pop them on me online store soon!
We finally finished Season 4 of The Bear last night. Wonderful, simply wonderful. This season has been the epitome of why ‘show, don’t tell’ is so powerful. https://media.tenor.com/1CBRHjSMztoAAAAC/nose-tap-the-bear.gif?hh=353&ww=498
It’s bloody brilliant! Passionate humans with a story to tell, executed immaculately with the most killer soundtrack! [contains quote post or other embedded content]
Best post day ever!!! Arcane S1 and AKIRA on 4K UHD Blu-ray!
Oooof! Loads of formative ones for me!! [contains quote post or other embedded content]
I created digital versions of my son’s Axolotl toys, for our ‘Strange Kids’ venture! Using Spline 3D, each of the three toy colourways come with a QR code that lets the owner play with this in-browser! Sully came up with the names of the characters, their attacks, costs and HP! strangekids.toys
I love 3D printing! Printed myself a few Megadrive cartridge stands thanks to a design from makersworld 👍
