Took only a handful of images today. It was between this one above, which I took during my commute and an image of my tv, while I am playing Echos of Wisdom. Talking about Zelda: I am about two hours in. The game mechanics are so much fun!

Also this marks yet another quarter done! One more – or 92 days – to go!

Waiting for the bus.

We took a short trip to visit my wife's extended family today. As we didn't make it to Turkey this year (for the first time since 2019), I wasn't able to continue my Aile project. This was an opportunity to at least add a couple of pictures without traveling too far.

Monochrome photo of a severed tree branch casting a long shadow on the asphalt

Observing light and shadow.

Yesterday I was complaining about the rain, but this morning it was actually quite nice, so I stopped by Gruga for a short (photo) walk before heading to the office.

Leica released a new full-frame camera yesterday, that comes with a fixed 43mm lens. I've never gotten used to this weird in-between-35-and-50 focal length. Whenever I use the 27mm pancake on my X-T5 (which is a ~40mm equivalent) and lift up the camera to my eye, I am always surprised that I am either too close or too far away from the subject. I am so used to either 35 or 50, that I know exactly where to stand even before raising the camera to take the photo. 40, however, always trips me up.

Monochrome image of my glasses covered in tiny water droplets

The wet season is upon us. Not a fan…

That being said: I am pretty well equipped, when it comes to rain gear. Only thing missing is something to protect my eyes/face during heavy rain. I know there are bike helmets with visors. Do you, dear reader, have any recommendations or other ideas in that regard? Please let me know.

Pretty hectic day. The main reason was, that the bike had a flat tire, just when it was time to pick up the kids. I had to scramble on foot and by subway to get them in time.

Thanks so much to the people who signed up for the project 366 zine "newsletter" list. I made the finishing touches on the zine today and I'll send out a first update via email soon!

Practicing. Daily! I really hope she can keep this initial enthusiasm alive for a long time. 🤞

The 366 part I zine arrived, and I am very happy with the result. Might add a little more padding to bottom of the text pages, but other than that, it is good to go!

Monochrome image of the front wheel of a bycicle with a very dirty mudguard

Abysmal weather conditions today. We still made our way to Rhein-Ruhr-Zentrum to get a birthday present for Lumis friend. Hope the weather will be better on the weekend, when the celebration takes place.

Changed the break pads of our bike today. I still get surprised by them needing to be replaced every time. I need to track that better. At least now that I've done it a couple of times, I manage to get it done quite quickly. ☝️ That's a feather on the hood of a car by the way.

Today I finally managed to get some creative work done for myself! I finished the layout of the first of four zines, containing all of the images of the currently running 366 project. I decided to go with one „issue“ per quarter, as I would never fit all of the images into one book (it's just too many). I also love the magazine format, so this will be a lot cheaper to produce.

Not sure if anyone other than me would be interested in owning a copy, but if so, let me know. Blurb shipping is always ridiculously expensive, so ordering in bulk could help with that. And I also would be able to sign your copy. 😉

Monochrome image of my daugther sitting on a chair playing her guitar

Already looks like she knows what she's doing. 😊 She really enjoyed her first two lessons. Let's hope she's more into practicing than I was.

Frame of a frame.

Trying to post photos earlier in the day, because I almost missed posting at all in the last couple of days. 😬 Still getting used to the "new" schedule, with Ulya already gone, when the rest of us get up on the morning.

Didn't even find time to shot during my commute today. Also, it was raining every time I sat on my bike, so there's that. So birch tree leaves outside my (home) office window it is…

Pretty busy with work at the moment, also Ulya has started an internship at a delivery ward, and her working hours are a bit all over the place. It will be a challenge for the next couple of weeks to find some time for photography, so I guess I'll try to take some during my commute.
