I started the day by making tasty corn muffins and the day somehow got better still.
Artemis Changelog #7
Artemis, the calm web reader I maintain, has a few new features. Below is a summary of the features now available to all users.
Also, I have started a Discord server for the project in which I can both answer questions and will potentially share some stories of the behind-t...

Etha-Editing
At #IndieWeb HWC yesterday we ran VS Code w/”Live Share” plugin. In a few minutes 5 of us wrote a web page. Surveillance tech is an enshittified anti-labour mess but tools—the means of production—to pamphleteer and agitate and samizdat and protest are in our hands. Websites. Designing a new button to visually show and hide alt text
In Developing an alt text button for images on my website, I wrote about how I made a button for visibly showing and hiding alt text on my website. I enjoy reading alt text. Alt text is great.
My implementation method used a combination of a HTML checkbox and the CSS :has se...
📄 FeedCity updates September 2025
There have been a few things happening recently in FeedCity land:
🎬 28 Days Later
While this might have a little bit of shitty digital quality, I think otherwise this really holds up well and is a great entertaining zombie film. The story is great, the characters and the acting is there, the infected are menacing, the action is good. And it just has a lot of great scenes. Was again looking forward to that blood-drops-in-the-eye shot.
🎬 Final Destination Bloodlines
Haven't seen a movie from this franchise in a long time. Do I like the CGI-to-the-max? No. But otherwise, it's actually pretty entertaining with great humour. Death has once again packed a fine assortment of Rube Goldberg death machines and bloody butterfly effects.
Collaborative web weaving
At this week’s Homebrew Website Club, I was introduced to the Live Share extension developed by Microsoft for Visual Studio Code. The extension lets you start a collaborative editing session to which you can invite others.
Excited to learn that this extension exists, and cu...
Finally put the next date up for the Homebrew Website Club meetup. Happening in two weeks on 23.09.2025.

really-enjoy-the-time-when-all
I really enjoy the time when all the software on my servers - the OS, the Tailscale client, Docker, all the self-hosted stuff I'm running - is up to date. What a bliss, those 30 seconds.
30 collaborative things you can do on the web
In 100 things you can do on your personal website, I shared ideas for what you can do with your website. Most of them were ideas that can be worked on yourself. With that said, I find myself increasingly delighted by the collaborative spirit of the web.
Indeed, one of the w...

Whimsy
Sometimes you need to make a web page about an air fryer. At least, this was the intution underlying my musing Maybe I should start an air fryer blog. in a Discord of which I am a member. It all started with a discussion about dinner and then website talk ensued.
With my di...

auch-mal-schoen-wenn-die-sitzplatzreservierung
Auch mal schön wenn die Sitzplatzreservierung im ICE in dem Zugteil ist, der fährt. Sonst hatte ich immer das Glück in dem Teil zu reservieren, der weggefallen ist. Die kleinen Freuden des Alltags.
