🎬 Demons 2
I think I have a soft spot for those old Italian horror film. The setdesign, the make up, the fantastic old school effects, the music, theacting, the not-taking-themselves-to-seriously. Good stuff, in my humbleopinion.
🎬 The Brood
This could have been something. The Brood is really quite terrifying.But it didn‘t really came into action all that often. Instead, the moviespend a lot of time with slow-paced dialogue. And I think I didn‘treally get what the ending was hinting at.
🎬 Pumpkinhead
I thought there was a lot of good stuff in here: foremost thePumpkinhead monster itself – but also the visuals in general. Thecharacters are good too, it even has some well thought out dramaelements. But in the end the sum of its parts didn‘t really add up to awell rounded movie. Was still entertaining, though.
🎬 Slugs
The story is pretty conventional. But I was in the mood for that. Hassome cool effects and is fast-paced and entertaining.
🎬 Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron
A totally fine movie. Zoe liked it, but in my opinion it’s not the mostappropriate film for a five year old due to quite a few threateninggestures, themes and scenes.
📖 Die Kunst des klaren Denkens – Rolf Dobelli
Kurzweiliges Buch über viele typische Denkfehler. Viele kannte ich schon mit Namen, einige ohne Namen, und einige waren mir so explizit neu.
Aufgrund der Menge an Denkfehlern (=Kapitelanzahl) bleibt nicht alles beim ersten Lesen hängen. Das Buch kann man sich aber gut in den Schrank als Referenz stellen.

On Sunday, June 25th 2023, we were involved in a car crash on the Autobahn. While our camper is beyond repair, we were very lucky and escaped with only minor injuries.

Having just been to Bruges, it seemed fitting to watch In Bruges. I canconfirm it’s not a shithole. Fuckin‘ Bruges. Compared to Ana Lily Amirpour‘s other films, this was lacking. Somehow the setting and vibe didn’t get me as much. Worse dialogue, and too long. And I have to admit that I find realistic cannibal scenes quite repelling. I’d rather happily rewatch her other movies.
