What Happened in Minneapolis | The New Yorker

a balanced, albeit high-level, review of what happened with operation metro surge and some of the activity since.

it’s going to take me a long time before i don’t have a visceral enraged reaction when i read about this time in minneapolis history.

check out this guy. he charges a 1F supercap during the day, and outputs 2v regulated 10mA at night. i'll build some stuff to flash lights or something eventually. (better photo of components after the jump) there he is... click for more

Frontier is a hard piece of software to get going, it’s got a lot of integrations, which you want when you’re using, but hard when you’re getting it all to work the first time.

🔗📼 I just received this from my friend Randall on Maui .. you might not know the name Steve Grimes. I did not. (Maybe @jsonbecker has?) - but clearly a great friend of Randall, a highly talented Luthier … and a lovely video to boot.

When I watched this video, it made me proud to live on Maui in Hawaii … with little thought of “America”.

Today's song: So into you.

We got past the bump, and I'm getting stuff done. I write this stuff because I will probably forget most of the frustration. Frontier is a hard piece of software to get going, it's got a lot of integrations, which you want when you're using, but hard when you're getting it all to work the first time. And this port is very much like getting it work that way. But Claude does some things poorly and others spectacularly. It can play the role of a CPU and run the code and tell you where it will fail. Helpful when you don;t have a working debugger to step through the code and see exactly how and why it failed where it did. Before debuggers it was either all or nothing.

Back on micro.blog after a year or so. I tried a couple other blogging sites, most recently Leaflet, but I kept finding myself looking for ways to replicate everything micro.blog already does lol. My old username here was grubz, and after that it was gary.onl. It’s nice seeing some familiar faces!
