Mamdani Turns Gotcha Question Into Win For Dems

During a Q&A on Tuesday, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani continued to deftly handle attempts to draw him into conflict and controversy.

“As the mayor, my job is to respond to the needs of everyone, no matter how they feel about me or whether they voted for me or whether they voted at all,” Mamdani replied when asked if he saw unaffiliated voters as a threat, noting that about 1 in 10 Trump voters also cast their vote for him in the mayoral race.

“And so to me, it’s not about classifying someone as whether they’re with you or against you. It’s about asking them, ‘What is it that you’re looking for from city government? What are the struggles you’re facing in your life and what are the ways in which we can actually help you with that?’” he continued.

TerraCut to open reformer pilates studio on East Houston Street

A new reformer Pilates studio opens next month at 270 E. Houston St., between Avenue A and Avenue B. 

TerraCut is from James Crawford, a founding coach at [solidcore] and one of the fitness chain's longest-tenured instructors. 

The studio will have 18 reformers and offer two 50-minute classes: TerraSculpt and TerraSweat. Both are open to all experience levels. 

Preview classes start Sept. 8, with an official opening set for Sept. 11. 

This is the first retail tenant for the new 12-story mixed-use building (aka The Houston).
