The best covers don't polish up a song we already love. They stomp all over it and drag out whatever was lurking underneath. Johnny Cash did it. The White Stripes did it. The Dickies did it. And one of my all-time favorites came from Los Angeles glam-punk legends Celebrity ...

For the first time in its history, the Boston Symphony Orchestra faces a possible strike by its musicians' union. The vote comes after management rejected a proposal to bring in a mediator amid stalled contract talks — tensions that have simmered since the board's abrupt decision in March not to renew music director Andris Nelsons' contract.

Willson Contreras hit a three-run home run and the Boston Red Sox held off the San Francisco Giants 6-4 on Friday night in the return of Rafael Devers to Fenway Park.
