Beyond wet and dry Bruce Li in Hackernoon:  AI’s Water Problem Is Smaller Than You Think Pull-quote:  The data centers rising out of the desert didn't create the water crisis. They did something arguably more useful: they made it legible. A 200-megawatt facility asking a small county for eight million gallons on a summer afternoon […]

Trump Shrugs Off AI and Data Center Concerns

“The rapid rise of artificial intelligence has started to rattle voters around the country, raising fears that they could be thrust from their jobs if the technology succeeds, or lose their retirement savings if the industry falters,” the New York Times reports. “But for all of the emerging doubt and political blowback, there has been […]

Joe Scarborough Says Democrats Are ‘Fumbling’ Again

“Joe Scarborough slammed Democrats for refusing to denounce the extremist views of some of the party’s most contentious figures this year, arguing that the political party is ‘fumbling the football at the two-yard line’ just like it did in 2024,” The Wrap reports. Said Scarborough: “The Democratic Party has a choice to make. I said […]

Manton Reece Supports Webmention Valid

I would use OpenClaw more if the chat interface was built directly into Codex. My little bot mostly goes unused because it’s so disconnected from other workflows. I’ve thought about hacking around this… No elegant solutions.

‘Cocks Not Glocks’ at 10

Since August 1, 2016—50 years to the day after the UT Tower shooting—it’s been legal to carry concealed firearms into most public university spaces in Texas, including classrooms.  When the law went into effect despite opposition from students, administrators, and faculty, University of Texas at Austin students reacted by brandishing dildos in a performance-art-style, nonviolent […]

Tron: Legacy (Recording Sessions) by Daft Punk

So, I’m not exactly sure what this is, but what it appears to be is a fan-assembled album of the recording sessions for Tron: Legacy by Daft Punk & Joseph Trapanese. 67 tracks in this YouTube playlist and 61 tracks from the Internet Archive (not sure of the overlap here…) Some of it sounds just like the 31 tracks from the “Complete Edition” of the soundtrack, some of it is alternate studio takes, and some of it is probably just random bits and bobs from the movie that didn’t make it onto the soundtrack.

Anyway, if you love this album as much as I do, I’ll leave you to explore.
