The woman, a 41-year-old Maine resident named Jenny Racicot, detailed the alleged incident to POLITICO in three interviews over the past two weeks.

Politico reports that a woman has accused Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner of sexual assault. Jenny Racicot claims Platner entered her home in 2021 while drunk and assaulted her.

A woman said Monday that Graham Platner, the Democratic nominee for US Senate in Maine, raped her – an allegation Platner denies.

Graham Platner, the Democratic Senate nominee from Maine, said he was taking time to “reflect” on his political path forward after a report that a woman had accused him of sexual assault, which he denied.

I had previously recommended conforming to public.plain-text but stated that the text encoding should be UTF-8. I’ve updated my own recommendation to public.utf8-plain-text to enshrine the UTF-8 encoding. (Back in 2004 UTF-8 support was far from universal. Today it is.)
