Github’s uptime lately seems…..concerning?

Meta acquires Moltbook. From TechCrunch:

OpenClaw blew up among the tech community, but Moltbook broke containment, reaching people who had no idea what OpenClaw was, but who reacted viscerally to the idea that there was a social network where AI agents were talking about them.

Moltbook is still crazy and interesting, but not sure it fits at Meta in the way that OpenClaw might’ve. I’m just glad Peter Steinberger ended up at OpenAI.

The Shape of Paris is a balletic short film of skateboarder Andy Anderson zooming, grinding, spinning, and floating around Paris in the summertime. It is also beautifully shot by Brett Novak; Paris has never looked better. As a YT commenter put it: “bro wtf this is the cleanest footage I’ve ever seen. The cinematography and color grading is insane.”

Also, this is the first skate video I’ve seen with “trick acknowledgements” in the credits. Great touch. (via craig mod)

The University of Maryland honored all the basketball team’s departing seniors on Sunday before facing Illinois. Diggy Coit, Collin Metcalf, Elijah Saunders, and Solomon Washington walked onto the court with family and assorted loved ones, and got framed jerseys and drawings of themselves to commemorate the end of their run in College Park.

Their Maryland careers are over, yet it seemed like they'd all just gotten here. Well, OK, they all did just get here. Every honoree in this year's senior crop was a first-year Terp. You gotta combine all their days in College Park together to amount to what only yesterday passed for a standard college stay.

“Yeah, it was not the typical mood for a senior day,” says Maryland booster Jack Cullen, who says he can “count on two hands” how many Terps home games he’s missed since his days as an undergrad in the late 1970s.

The Modern Times cafe moved to a pay-what-you-want model during the ICE occupation of Minneapolis. Now the cafe is making it permanent (and pivoting to a nonprofit). “Some had come for a free meal; others were there to pay double or triple their tab.”

Working on Inkwell is in some ways a little awkward because I’m competing in the same space as some of my friends for the first time. But I root for their success and find ways to collaborate. It’s similar to how MarsEdit and Micro.blog work together and also “compete” as blogging client apps.

Sneak peek of Inkwell for Mac. It’s coming along well. I was going to do a beta but might jump straight to 1.0 this week. Need to fix a few things and wire up version checking.
