Cybercriminals Are Hiding Malicious Web Traffic in Plain Sight
In an effort to evade detection, cybercriminals are increasingly turning to “residential proxy” services that cover their tracks by making it look like everyday online activity.
Congrats to Brent Simmons on his retirement! This is an impressive list of apps to have been a part of. I’ve actively used all of them over the years, and a few I still do:
Along the way I worked on, among other apps, Userland Frontier, NetNewsWire, MarsEdit, Glassboard, Vesper, OmniFocus, OmniOutliner, and Audible.
I did a little digging, looks like I first linked to Brent in 2002, not long after starting my blog. I met him later at WWDC, back when it felt like you could meet everyone, although which year escapes me.

As a proud first-generation, undocumented graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, and a lifelong product of Texas public schools, I am outraged—but not surprised—by the latest cowardly attack on our immigrant community. The most recent attempt to gut the “Noriega Bill”—also known as the Texas Dream Act—a law that has opened college doors […]

An Experimental Staff Chat: Let’s Talk Tonys
The Tony Awards are on Sunday, and that's as good an excuse as any for me to chat with you all about Broadway. Ask any questions you want about theater, or live performance more generally. Alternatively, if you don't have a question from that field, some other folks might drop in to answer any queries related to people named Tony.
Please stay on topic in Tony Chat.
