Of course. The Supreme Court kicked off its new term today by hearing oil companies’ attempt to throw out a lawsuit seeking to make them pay for climate damage they caused. The outcome could determine whether similar lawsuits brought by cities and counties across the country can move forward.

The Trump administration’s latest distraction Watergate. More than 50 years after Nixon resigned, Trump’s DOJ is reviewing claims from a former Nixon aide that the prosecutors were the ones who did something wrong. No formal investigation has been opened yet, but they are considering it.

Clean air is now a “burden.” Trump’s EPA announced it will reconsider smog-control requirements for parts of Texas after Gov. Greg Abbott pushed for relief. This comes as Abbott declared a diesel price “disaster” and separately requested waivers for cleaner diesel standards.

A major win! A federal court in Texas today temporarily blocked the Trump administration from building a border wall and other infrastructure across the state’s Big Bend region. The fight isn’t over, but this is a big step toward protecting Big Bend!

PSA: The Trump administration changed the form used to register and request absentee ballots, removing the checkbox for US citizens who have never lived in the US(even though some are eligible to vote under state law). The change could block eligible voters and was made without proper public notice.

We’re honestly still taken aback by Elon advising the Pentagon on the future of wars. Didn’t we all see how badly he failed with DOGE?

The Trump administration has delayed a final decision on Endangered Species Act protections for monarch butterflies, with a new deadline of June 6, 2030. Monarchs remain without protections while the decision is pending. The agency could act sooner, but this agreement allows years more of waiting. 😔

Way to go, California! Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill yesterday banning law enforcement (ICE) from using electric shock gloves.

As we all suspected. The Federal Reserve’s independent watchdog found no reasonable grounds to believe its multibillion-dollar renovation broke federal law. Trump made it a target, federal prosecutors briefly scrutinized it, and the watchdog found no basis for the accusations.
