I haven't thought twice about where "lorem ipsum" was from. It's fascinating how much history there is behind something so inconsequential. And I'm glad that some people still dig for answers when most just parrot falsehoods.
I will say one thing though... Specifically on the tracks Lexin and Stained Hearts, I much prefer the mix and vocals from the live performance. I think they hit harder and Lynn Wu's higher register makes Stained Hearts sound much more otherworldly. I'll have to get the blu-ray...

The studio release sounds so big, so bombastic, so sonically elaborate that I think had I heard it for the first time this way, I would've connected to it immediately despite the irregular structure. Basically:
When I first heard it last year, I had a hard time connecting with it at first. It's not a traditional album in the sense of, well, having individual songs that you could play in isolation if so desired. It's like a whole piece, with flowing themes and motifs. It was through repeat listening that I was able to see through it.
#DevinTownsend's new album #TheMoth is out today. Deluxe Edition consists of the studio version and the raw orchestra & choir performance ("The Afterlife"). I saw the live debut performance last year on livestream and though I liked it back then already, with proper mixing it sounds absolutely phenomenal.
Finally some good tech news? #LastFM is now independent again.

Why does it matter whether people know how to use files and tabs or re-install their operating system? Isn't it better to let people get on with their day? Well, it's like with everything in life, ignorance costs a premium. If you are ignorant of something, you can be taken advantage of. Apple sells you expensive devices capable of running any program in the world, but keeping an iron grip on what you can run on it. Google is following suit. Many such cases.
When I was growing up, we had operating systems that exposed a lot of the technical details about their inner workings, and websites that let us use code to customize them, like MySpace and Geocities. UX designers in tech have since optimized away most of the stuff that allowed and encouraged people to learn to use technology and now people get confused by files and browser tabs. And as the knowledge shrinks, more and more things have to be simplified away. I only ever see it as a one way road.
