After the second flight of the trip we landed at Bangkok airport (BKK). The first thing I noticed is that it was not at brutally hot and humid as when I changed here on a flight to Australia in 2010. This was a huge relief to me.

We have been planning this trip since January, when we all met up in York to discuss when and where we were going to holiday together this time.
Travel
We all started off in different airports around the UK:
Susan and I Stansted (STN)
Liz & Nick Birmingham (BHX)
Sarah Manchester (MAN)
Debbie and Mike Newcastle (NCL)
Eleanor and Tony Glasgow (GLA)
It turns out that Emirates flies from many different locations now in the UK. All of our flights departed within an hour of each other.
Approximately 7 hours later we all met up in O'Regans Irish Bar at Dubai airport (DBX), there wasn't much Irish-ness about this place but after a few drinks we finally boarded our flight to Bangkok (BKK).

Today my mum passed away, it was very peaceful.
Things my mum taught me
Always be nice to people, you don't know what is happening in their life.
Especially people who are not nice to you.
Always say thank you to people who have done somet...
Mental Health
This year I have been struggling with my mental health. I have been feeling overwhelmed, have not been able to sleep properly and felt like nobody likes me (and yes I know that this is not true).
This all culminated in the queue for Glastonbury festival where I...
Today I went to Westminster Magistrates Court to protest about Mo Chara from Kneecap being charged as a terrorist.
The outcome of the case was that the judge has yet again decided to postpone the decision, to 26 September, on whether or not he will face terror charges.

Trains
So this week I went to Bristol for Web Dev Conf.
I got there by getting on the Elizabeth line, no problems whatsoever, super awesome railway line through London now. I got to Paddington about two o'clock.
My train was at half past two and when I went to the boards to ...
Back in April it was announced that Florence + the Machine would play the Proms with a full orchestra, performing her first album Lungs. I immediately messaged my friend, Nyika, to confirm that she wanted to attend with me. We first saw Florence together at Glastonbury 2009....
I first saw Massive Attack Live at Phoenix Festival 20 July 1996 (one of my favourite festivals ever), from that day I have been to see them as often as I can. I had seen the Massive Attack sound system the year previously when they were asked to curate the first ever Dance ...
Anyone who knows me well, will know that I have quite a lot of friends. Friends I meet through work, friends I meet at conferences and friends I meet at music festivals. This last group of friends we refer to as our Festival Family. We don't only meet up at music festivals, ...
At the beginning of the day, my blog only had posts there was literally no way of finding those posts other than knowing the URL and this is what I wanted to fix.
So tonight was the fourth night, for me, of Orbital’s Green/Brown tour. The previous weekend I attended:
Birmingham Friday 26 April
London Saturday 27 April
Nottingham Sunday 28 April
So I wasn't sure about going to this, even though I really wanted. Firstly after the N...
So tonight was the third night, for me, of Orbital’s Green/Brown tour. Friday night was Birmingham and last night was London.
So another day another early start, I left home about 10:20 and headed to pick up Aimée, Lucy and Badger from Jane's house. Jon-Michael had already l...

So tonight was the first night, for me, of Orbital’s Green/Brown tour. They have already played Exeter and Southampton, I’m also going to London and Nottingham.
The drive from London to Birmingham was an absolute nightmare and what should have been 2.5 hrs took 5hrs. When Lu...
Today was our last day in Mexico again we had breakfast at Muss Cafe and then got our taxi to Oaxaca Airport for our last night before we flew home.
Our last hotel was Fiesta Americana Viaducto Aeropuerto, which as the name suggests was pretty close to the airport to make ou...
Today was our last day in Oaxaca and so after breakfast at Muss Cafe we went to buyer some souvenirs and presents.
After this we went back to Sabina Sabe for more cocktails again the cocktails were fabulous.
In the evening we went to La Azotea a roof top restaurant, the views were amazing but the food fell well short, style over substance. After food we tried to get into the Sevla cocktail bar but for some reason I didn't understand so instead we went to Muss Cafe where they have a roof top bar. We sat outside on the roof drank cocktails and watch a lightning storm in the clouds.
Today was our third Tour and final tour in Mexico El Tule, Mitla, and Hierve el Agua Tour with Mezcal. This time we were picked up from our hotel. Although they turned up 30 minutes before they said they would and we were just about to go get coffee and breakfast. Susan's po...
We had done some research before our trip and decided that we'd do a cookery course in Oaxaca. We decided to do the Casa Crespo Mexican food course.
We walked up the road to Casa Crespo, about 15 minutes, and arrived a few minutes early so we sat in the shade in the square o...
Today was another day of transferring, this time from Mexico City to Oaxaca City (in the UK this is written Wahaca).
The taxi from the airport was simple enough and we had just over an hour to wait before we set off. The flight was super smooth, just over 45 minutes, and we ...
Today was our last day in Mexico City and we still weren't feeling 100%, so a chilled day in our apartment.
After a long lie in bed, I got up and went to investigate the coffee shop we walked past on the way back from the Argentinian restaurant. Their coffee was excellent.
A...
Today was our second Tour in Mexico City with Get Your Guide this time to Xochimilco, Coyoacan, and Frida Kahlo Museo. This is the tour I was most excited about as we also got to ride on a boat. This time there was no protests about the government so other than the rush hour...
Today we had a relaxed day to try and regain some of our strength, I started off finding a coffee at Ukiyo café which was wonderful. Then Susan and I went to Saks which just so happens to be the closest restaurant to our accommodation. There was a huge queue and we were told...
Woke up this morning feeling must better, which is great news as we had organised a day trip to Teotihuacan with Get Your Guide. It started super early as we needed to meet at Sheraton Mexico City Maria Isabel Hotel at 8:30am.
When we got there the hotel was right by the The...
Day 6 we were mostly transferring from Mazatlán back to Mexico City via Monterrey. The morning started with another coffee from Coffee Break Mazatlán.
We had arranged a transfer back to the airport with a friend of Britza, which was super smooth, everything she did for us wa...
Woke up feeling much better, still not 100% but way better. Today we went for a walk down to the beach and into Centro Historico in Mazatlán so we could see it in day light.
The seafront was so much quieter that eclipse day only like 10% of the people on the previous day.
Th...
Today was the eclipse day, pretty much the main reason that we made this trip to be honest. When we woke up both of us were felling pretty shitty (pun intended). So we decided that we weren't going to make the eclipse breakfast that we'd booked on a roof top of a restaurant ...
Luckily last night I found the Japanese Grand Prix on Mexican TV. The race started at 11pm local time, although it did not help that on the first lap there was a crash and the barriers needing repairing. The commentary on BBC radio just said "I bet all those who got up at 5a...
After an early morning walk around a very quiet Centro Historico, where I stumbled upon a discotheque, still pumping a cross between Mariachi and Techno, the patrons tried to persuade me to join them.
When I returned Susan and I jumped into an Uber to find Dave’s home bread ...
