Fixed new issue deleting replies where they weren’t actually deleted. Also improved cross-posting so that replies are deleted on Bluesky and Mastodon too.

Improved the web text editor to partially show the styling buttons when there is selected text instead of keeping them invisible. Also updated the Logs page with new colors for different types of logs.

We resolved another issue with blog posts not publishing fully overnight. I’m very sorry. It shouldn’t happen again.

Fixed accidentally including video posts in the timeline before the video was fully processed for streaming.

We’ve moved some things around for managing RSS sources. In the sidebar, Sources has been renamed Connections, with two tabs for Sources and Cross-posting. Importing an RSS feed has been moved to Posts → Import.

Apologies for the slow web pages and timeouts in Micro.blog today. Our servers were getting overloaded, but I’ve rolled out an optimization and things should be fast again.

Redesigned audio player on the web, including the ability to keep playing a podcast episode while you browse other pages in Micro.blog.

Released a new Mac version with bug fixes and automatically saving drafts to Micro.blog when writing longer posts.

Added auto-saving drafts on the web, for longer posts. If you start writing a new post and it gets over 300 characters, Micro.blog will now occasionally save a copy of it in the background so you won’t lose the text if something happens. Also works when editing drafts.

Improved the style of headers on the web to be more consistent across pages like Discover and Bookshelves.

Added new Bluesky PDS option for new Micro.blog users under the Account screen. If you are already using Bluesky, you won’t see anything new. More details in Manton’s blog post.

Updated Bluesky automatic cross-posting to also delete the copy of a post on Bluesky when the blog post is deleted in Micro.blog.

Fixed an issue with embedding Bluesky cards and Standard.site publishing for AT Protocol.

Added RSS.chat as an option when manually cross-posting to other services. Manual cross-posting uses a different list of platforms, available on the Posts page → “Cross-post…” button.

Micro.blog for Mac version 4.0.5 is now available. It features a better publishing progress pane and a few bug fixes.

Fixed another issue today with blog publishing not updating with latest posts.

Improved post deletion to more consistently handle removing posts from the timeline and your blog. Before, the social and blog hosting parts of Micro.blog were more disconnected, sometimes requiring removing a post in multiple places. It’s now smarter about doing the right thing.

Fixed some temporarily glitches with blog publishing. Also fixed signing in with email for Sunlit. Apologies for the flakiness!

Fixed adding muted domain names. Before, it could mute Bluesky usernames but not reliably mute everything from a particular Mastodon hostname, for example.

Sunlit has been updated with fixes and design improvements for Liquid Glass. Sunlit is our iOS app for photo-blogging, with great support for posting longer posts with multiple photos and text sections.

Fixed an intermittent issue today with posting errors, especially when uploading a photo. Sorry about that.

Fixed import from Write.as and added option to only import specific blogs.

Updated the Mac app to version 4.0.4, fixing a few issues and adding a new Scheduled tab to more easily keep track of posts scheduled to publish later. Reminder you can use File → Schedule when writing a new post.

Fixed an issue with processing RSS feeds where the summary was set incorrectly, which would lead to too much text for long-form blog posts being included in fediverse posts.

There was some downtime for our EU servers. We’ve fixed the issue and hosted blogs in the EU should be back online now.
