“These are the actions of an authoritarian state,” said US Sen. Chris Van Hollen on Thursday regarding new reports of a broad investigation by the Department of Homeland Security into numerous left-wing groups in Minnesota earlier this year, in the wake of Border Patrol agents’ fatal shooting of Alex Pretti at a protest against the agency’s anti-immigration crackdown.

As The New York Times reported, days after Pretti was killed in the street as he tried to help a woman who had been violently pushed by the agents, the DHS office in St. Paul opened an investigation into groups including the climate-focused Sunrise Movement, major labor groups like the AFL-CIO and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), the Democratic Socialists of America, and a collective called Direct Action Minnesota (DAMN).

“Food and Drug Administration investigators traveled to Taylor Farms’ operation in Mexico for the first time this week to start inspecting the facilities linked to the largest cyclospora outbreak in the U.S.,” The Washington Post reported Saturday.

“Given the scale of the outbreak, food-safety experts and some former top FDA officials said the agency should have gone to Mexico sooner than nearly a month after officials publicly connected the company’s shredded lettuce to an outbreak that has sickened nearly 10,000 people,” The Post also noted. “Though Mexican officials and the company have conducted their own testing on the farm, some food-safety experts worry the conditions that may have contributed to the contamination are gone, complicating investigative efforts.”

The compulsive liar went on to claim, “I had it down to below $2 in many states.” Reality check: Gas prices have not been below $2 since 2004.

By the way, if the war is so great, why hasn’t Barron Trump enlisted?
