It turns out that sneering at the troop families and sailors aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln is not only because of MAGA callousness.
It’s also a cover up.
The reason sailors are out of needed supplies is “because Pete Hegseth hid the fact that Iran destroyed the main resupply base that the United States has in the gulf,” Senior National Security Reporter David Rohde explained on MS Now.
Secretary of Defense Hegseth “did not make that public in press conference after press conference,” Rohde continued, “and that is, again, the way that they have mishandled this war.”
It’s bad enough that our troops are bearing the brunt of Trump’s misbegotten war. But’s beyond disgusting for him and his toadies to smear them for needlessly suffering.

While the rest of the right-wing media went into freakout mode over Sen. Jon Ossoff's jab at Trump and his aide Natalie Harp, Fox's Jesse Watters had a rare moment of candor. As we already discussed here, Ossoff hit Trump during a speech in Atlanta this past Sunday, telling the audience that Trump would rather build the White House ballroom and travel with Harp than “do the job” of President.'
Trump responded by attacking a reporter's children for daring to even ask him about it, and by calling Ossoff "Pee Wee Herman."
During a discussion on this Tuesday's The Five, Watters downplayed the comments and said he wasn't fazed by them:
On Tuesday’s edition of The Five, Fox News’ Dana Perino said to Watters, “It wasn’t a quip that just came rolling off the tongue. It was written into the speech.” Notably, the segment’s chyron read “SEXIST SMEAR.”

I first remembered seeing Hayden Panettiere when she was in Heroes, because I had completely forgotten she had played Ally McBeal's IVF daughter in season five.
She was equally impressive in "Nashville," as the diva, country pop rising star that took on Connie Britton's legendary Rayna Jaymes.
I was never a big country music fan, but the music on Nashville was wonderful.
The cause of death has not been determined yet, but she had her struggles.
Panettiere had been candid about her struggles from child stardom through adulthood. She released a memoir this May titled "This Is Me: A Reckoning.
"In the memoir, she shared "a rare and intimate glimpse into her life behind closed doors, opening up about postpartum depression, addiction and recovery, trauma, domestic abuse, and loss," according to a synopsis for her book.

If Fox News hadn't been caught in their lie, would they have admitted this massive error?
FOX: Yesterday, we aired a graphic that showed gas prices incorrectly last year were $4.13 a gallon. They were $3.13 a gallon. pic.twitter.com/WzhgugTli4
— Acyn (@Acyn) August 18, 2026
Fox News graphic claims falsely that the average price of gas one year ago was $4.13, lower than it is right now. It was actually $3.14!
How embarrassing.
How could any TV producer make such an error? When Joe Biden left office, gas prices averaged around $3.10 to $3.12 per gallon. In contrast, current prices under Donald Trump's second term hover around $4.00 to $4.16 per gallon.

Serial adulterer Newt Gingrich is the last person one would think to weigh in on the alleged controversial relationship between Donald Trump and Natalie Harp.
In one sentence, Democratic Georgia Sen. John Ossoff caused the MAGA universe to explode over calling attention to 35-year-old Trump aide Natalie Harp's companionship with Demented Donald.
Gingrich has admitted to having multiple affairs during his first two marriages, the first one during the Clinton impeachment saga.
Gingrich reached the height of hypocrisy when he demanded an apology for Ossoff's observable fact.
The Georgia Senator is fully lodged in the brains of the GOP, and they are frightened of what he represents.
Sen. Ossoff, keep doing what you're doing.
How dare someone insinuate a powerful married man has an inappropriate relationship with one of his staffers

CNN's Dana Bash reviewed the Republican primary in Florida District 19 being held Tuesday night by going through all the candidates, most of whom had been in prison or came from other states, including MAGA creep Madison Cawthorn.
Steve Contorno's article fueled Bash's segment: A ‘clown show’ of carpetbaggers and characters has upended a Republican primary in Trump’s backyard
Madison Cawthorn came from North Carolina.
Chris Collins came from NY and was sentenced to 26 months in jail for his role in an insider trading scheme.
Ola Hawatheh is from New York.
Catalina Lauf is from Illinois.
Jim Oberweiss.
Jim Oberweiss and Catalina ran against each other in Illinois.
Now let's not forget John Strand. He was in prison for what he was convicted of doing on January 6th, 2021.
What a motley and despicable crew.

Smack dab in the middle of a scandal about how he has screwed his troops on the USS Lincoln and dangerously depleted our weapons supply, Pete “WhiskeyLeaks” Hegseth apparently thinks it’s a great time to start stumping for president or some other public office.
The Washington Post reported that the defense secretary was traveling to Iowa in his “personal capacity” on Monday, “further fueling speculation that the former Fox News personality is mulling a run for president at some point … or some other political office after his time in the Trump administration is over.”
