A global pandemic. An afflicted, angry group. A seemingly indifferent government. Reporter Tracie Hunte wanted to understand this moment of pain and confusion by looking back 30 years, and she found a complicated answer to a simple question: When nothing seems to work, how do you make change?
This episode was reported by Tracie Hunte, and produced by Annie McEwen and Tobin Low. Fact-checking by Diane Kelly.

🎧 Capricorn – Orchid
What is this? 70s-style hard rock? Anyway – I like it! Great guitar riffs, catchy – although often long – songs, and – guess what? – very nice drumming.Every song is strong, but “Black Funeral” might be my favourite, if only for those amazing drum fills in the pre-chorus.

🎬 Mother

I loved “Parasite” by Bong Joon-ho. This was not as good.
Still very good, though, with interesting (moral) questions raised about disabilities, family bonds, the work of the police, and the blaming of presumed murder suspects.
My only negative point is actually, that is was a bit too long. (And maybe I didn’t get into it as much, because we watched the dubbed German version, which I am no longer used to, and which irritates me.)
🎬 The Hangover

How about some mainstream comedy for a change?
This was funny! But not so good that I need to watch it again. But maybe part 2? ;-)
🎬 The Conjuring

This was ok.
Individual scenes were certainly nicely done. But I often had the feeling that I had seen everything before.
It had too many jump-scares, which drives me nuts.
🎬 Friday the 13th

November had a Friday the 13th. I interpreted this as a sign to watch another horror classic I have never seen before.
Overall it was an ok movie. I’d like to note that the murders in this were indeed pretty brutal – still by today’s standards, I’d say. In this regard it was probably indeed ahead of its time.
I never knew it had Kevin Bacon in it.
