Today we leave home to go to Kalkan. When we originally booked our flight was at 20:40 but in April we received a notification, from Tui, that our flight had been moved to another flight. This was probably something related to the stupid war that Trump had started. Our new f...

Processing feed items without URLs in Artemis

Artemis, the calm web reader I maintain, supports web feeds marked up with h-feed. h-feed allows you to create a web feed in HTML using microformats. A h-feed may contain zero or more h-entries, each h-entry representing an entry in the feed. For example, my longform feed pa...

Deduplicating posts after URL changes in Artemis

Occasionally, sites that publish web feeds change the URL of a post that has just been published. This can be for several reasons. For example, I sometimes change post permalinks immediately after publishing because I notice a typo, or because the CMS I use calculated a defa...

Small wishes, II

June 21st, 2026 — After my coffee, a thought came to mind: I hope that one day I can see the countryside from a double-decker bus. It’s a small wish. It may never happen but I hold onto the thought any way. I stood at the bus terminal today thinking that it was only a few we...

Was actually quite well done with not much (effectively just one on-camera actor). But I found the plot too constructed and a little incoherent, which made it less spooky than it could’ve been.

If we live in a world where starry-eyed lovers climb to the top of the empire state building to fly a Jimi Hendrix banner, maybe there's some hope after all.

What a bloody annoying bitch!

I found this quite entertaining, although it was a little slow to start and it’s really trying hart to be shocking. And I actually found this slightly more funny than terrifying. But it’s a good mix. And the acting was really good!

Loved the ending, which is like the reverse of Romeo and Juliet or something.

I just put together a »web feed roll« for my website — a hand-picked list of blogs I actually read, each with a short intro and their latest posts pulled via RSS/Atom.

It l is a static flat HTML file. When you click on "Update feeds" a PHP script refreshes the content from the actual feeds.

This was my work day result at IndieWebCamp Nuremberg 2026 — built in a day among a room full of people doing similar things for their own corners of the web.

Oh My Knee Caps

Today we went to Crystal Palace Park to see Kneecap play their largest headline show to date, there were 20,000 mostly Irish fans. Thankfully the temperature was much less than the previous few days and only peaked at 30ºC. On the way we passed the Kneecap pop-up merch shop....
