Wonders of Web Weaving, Episode 14
The fourteenth episode of Wonders of Web Weaving is out: In Episode 14, I chat with Robb, the author of rknight.me about, among other things, metaphors for websites, the importance of sharing things you like on the web, running an indie service (Echo Feed), and more. I hope you enjoy the episode! Wonders of Web Weaving also has an RSS feed you can use to follow along from wherever you get your podcasts.
🎬 Father Mother Sister Brother

A lovely film about the relationships between parents and their kids, and some of the different ways this can go. It’s really not happening much. But I don’t know; Jarmusch always entertains me. And having three movies in one is fantastic: you can just spot all those little details and similarities among them without “having” to watch another one of his films. So, mix all the Jarmusch ingredients, multiply by three, serve them on a single plate, and Bob’s your uncle!

🎬 Basic Instinct

I sure have watched this back in the day. But I couldn’t remember much. And I certainly did not see the uncut version. Anyhow, this was suspenseful and sexy and psycho with a great story. Reminded me quite a bit of Hitchcock. And it has just the right amount humour. Loved all the car chases. And Sharon Stone’s character and acting is just perfect.

🎬 Mission: Impossible

So, I finally got to see that famous vault scene where Tom Cruise hovers over the ground. And that scene was indeed very cool. But overall, I found this to be a little boring. Maybe because I found the premise to be quite low-stakes, especially in relation to how many people of their internal force are sacrificed. And the end action sequence is ridiculous.

▶️ watched episodes 1-6 of Silo over the past week, most while I was a bit under the weather. Excellent dystopia concept and show. Pausing before watching episode 7, titled “The Flamekeepers”.#Silo #SiloTV #AppleOriginal #AppleTV#Blaugust #Blaugust2026
