A great analysis of my favourite song from the latest Meshuggah album. Love how he uses his fingers to illustrate it all!
I rarely dissect Meshuggah songs like this. But it’s good to sometimes have other people doing that for you.

Always checking out Jack’s new outputs. Almost always enjoying his guitar playing, sounds and songs. My favourite Song so far is the closing track “Shedding My Velvet”. A drum beat like this always gets me; and the guitar parts are fantastic, too. Have I written enough “always”-es, yet?

What happened to Aaron Swartz is so unjust and tragic. But I guess thatfate is almost certain when you uncover injustices or crimes the USgovernment and institutions do not like; when you go against the stream.Doesn’t matter if you’re a kid (that’s morally right, too).
But this is not only depressing. It also celebrates Aaron’s victoriesand general accomplishments.
On a side note: it struck me as remarkable, that the internet allowed athirteen year old kid to collaborate with adults on the spec of RSS. Idoubt this would have happened in real life, simply because ofartificial societal hurdles and/or adult arrogance.
This month – April of 2022 – I set a new record: our current flat is now the accommodation that I have been living in the longest since moving out of my parent’s house. We’ve been living here for three years now.
“Consequences be fucking damned”, ey!? Made a corona test this morning after having symptoms, and sure enough, it’s positive. Not feeling great today. But not feeling too bad, either. Feels like a cold so far. You get what you deserve, I suppose.

As appropriate for the Easter weekend, we watched a flick with a rabbitin it. And I still don’t know what to make of this. I certainly like theperformances, especially of Jake Gyllenhaal. And it has a nice creepyand mysterious vibe. But in the end it left me wondering what this wasabout. Love? Selflessness? And I felt the movie wanted to explain how itall worked, but then didn’t!? I should probably watch this again sometime.
So, I forgot to cancel my Apple Arcade trial. And on the weekend I had a look for a game to play. And now I’m already addicted to Mini Motorways. 🤷♂️
Regularly putting on this enjoyable and chaotic little album. Interesting arrangements and great playing has me coming back. Reminds me of old Mastodon and Protest the Hero. That opener is a banger!

First time in the cinema with Zoe. We had a good time. But at 4yo Ithought this was probably a bit much for her – although she liked it andpayed attention the whole time. But the fights, the whole YouTube-andsocial media follower-spiel and a long non-trivial story was pretty muchall new to her. But hey, you have to start somewhere. And when she likescinema, I’m all for it. :) The movie itself was fine, although itprobably tried too hard to be hip and modern (but what do I know).

Start to finish a suspenseful and very captivating journey. There’s notmuch to complain about. Loved the camera angles and the sound. And thewhole build-up is fantastic. Ace!

It’s their new one that just came out. It’s in constant rotation. Much easier to get into for me compared to the previous “The Violent Sleep of Reason”. The tracks on this one are so evil, which I very much like.
I’m almost sad now, that they cancelled all their gigs in Germany for the upcoming tour.
My cover of this Entombed song that never gets old.
Sound is not that great to be honest, but actually not much worse than what came out of the speaker. The signal went through the Eyemaster pedal into my overdriven Katana Mini. And I feel like that little amp/speaker can’t quite handle the amount of distortion. And also sending the backing track through there, too, certainly doesn’t help. I also haven’t figured out what the best postitioning of the little microphone is in front of the amp.
Anyhow. Great song. Easy and fun to play. Tuning is Drop-A#.

If a lot of scenes and the plot in general wasn’t so shocking and thelanguage not as coarse, I would say this could almost be described asbeautiful. It’s beautifully choreographed – both in a dancing kind ofway, as well as a cinematography kind of way. But it’s a choreography ofa horror trip. And the film takes you along for it.

Those monsters and the cave setting were actually really well done andit had some good moments. Unfortunately the plot and characters were notof the same quality leaving me indifferent to how this continues orends.
