Grouping threaded posts in Artemis
Artemis lets you subscribe to ActivityPub feeds (i.e. accounts on Mastodon). To do this, you can type in an ActivityPub handle like @jamesg.blog@jamesg.blog [1] on the “Add a website” page.
When you subscribe to a feed using an ActivityPub handle, Artemis can use the inform...
Graduating between mediums of communication
The IndieWeb community chat has a feature that lets you create a wiki page from a chat interaction. You can say “what is {term}?” in the chat and, if there is a definition on the community wiki, the definition will be returned by a bot. Otherwise, the bot, Loqi, will say tha...
Artemis dense layout
This evening I added an idea I have had for a while to Artemis: a "dense" layout.
By default, the Artemis interface appears in a single-column layout. The dense layout creates several columns. Each column from left-to-right shows posts for a given day. You can scroll down t...
Thinking; walking
Earlier this week I started to feel something I haven’t felt in a while: I felt lost. I started to look ahead and feel disoriented. Where do I want to be in a few years? What do I want to work on? What is my dream? I have never looked too far ahead in time, as long as I have...

Good space movie. Has great atmosphere overall (apart from a few soundtrack choices maybe). Liked the themes of the movie. The acting was great for the most part. And it has a good twist (or two?)! The very end is a bit unnecessary, when they could've just ended the movie right with the countdown in the airlock.

OMG. Brent Simmons (of NetNewsWire fame) linked to FeedCity and had nice things to say about it:
This one is not just no-unread-counts but also social, with outbound RSS. Very cool!
Thank you very much, Brent! 🥹

Can someone please remind me of the site that allows you to check punctuality on specifc German trains? I’m wondering whether a 12 minute transfer in Mannheim is even worth thinking about. Thank you.
Yesterday was another Homebrew Website Club.
Nina showed us her newly created Instagram-Archive site using Memento Mori. She also detailed how cumbersome it is to delete one’s Instagram account. We then talked about Dark Patterns for a while.
AI has also always been a topic again. How it can for example be useful to get away from big tech and host services yourself. Jochen told us about how he does just that now. What he previously didn’t have the time for now became possible. He also uses AI to add new feature to the website of his Python Podcast.
We also talked a bit about podcasting and available apps as well as how one might get away from large music streaming services like Spotify. And we made our first money transfer using Wero (instead of Paypal).
The next HWC DUS will be on Mar. 17th.
Webmaster questionnaire
I just found this one HUNDRED questions webmaster questionnaire! I'll just pick a few I feel like answering right now, thanks.

A perfect day
Jo and I are trading blog post titles. The title Jo chose for me is “A perfect day.”
What would my perfect day look like? Reflecting on this question, I started to think about the days that have brought me the most joy in the past. I realised that the days that stick out in...
