Put new tyres and tubes on the bike so took it out into the park where there happened to be a Rabbit to bag. Bike rode smoothly and managed to get on top of the Quest, at least according to the phone.

Composite image. On the left a map showing the location of the quest and my position. On the right, my bicycle parked almost exactly on top of the Quest location. The bike and I are casting long shadows over the grass towards some treetops, bare and still green, in a valley and beyond them umbrella pines on a ridge. There are cypress branches in the upper right corner.

New tyres and tubes on both wheels;
Schwalbe Marathon Plus. Installed easily enough with a Tyre Glider and plenty of clearance. I was about to take off on a test ride but the brakes aren’t very well adjusted, so I had to come upstairs and ask Calvin at Park Tools to take me through that as a refresher. Now I guess I'll wait until after lunch.

Composite image. On the left a map showing the location of the quest and my position. On the right, behind a rather beautiful and very colourful graffitied high wall, grass at its base, the rusting base and lattice work of a disused gasometer with a blue sky behind and a little green umbrella pine in the top left corner.

Rabbit Quest to the rescue again to pull me out of a bit of a Sunday afternoon funk. Down in my old ‘hood, where the gasometer and other hulking relics of the old coal-powered generating stations loom over the river.

Very happy to have easily persuaded Overland to send location data to Dawarich, after spending two days trying to connect Dawarich's own iOS app and failing. So now I know where I've been again.

No idea what this is. Maybe some kind of gall, but it had the look and feel of hard shiny plastic.

I have been thinking about redesigning my website for a while. I wrote a bit about one of the design directions I explored recently. I loved doing the design part of the project, but knew there would be several hours of work to integrate the new style into my website. Today ...

Monthly report: November 2025

Slightly conflicted. The spambot in October meant I was no longer recording my various forms of travel and the need for a new battery for my Apple Watch reduced my quantifiable self to a nubbin. And now I wonder whether I really care enough to do anything about that. Probabl...

My take on this is oooh my God who cares. I wish this was a real problem but it's really not. I'd take 100 fakers gladly if it meant every disabled person actually got the support they deserve. I'd give my taxes for that fucking gladly. Same with unemployment and everything else ppl make noise about [contains quote post or other embedded content]
