What can I say? It was great fun to watch this again with a bunch of my friends. And I would do it again.

This is so evil and dark. This time I wasn’t quite in the right setting, but it still gripped me once again. It’s so well filmed; the audio is great. I just feel like I don’t quite get all the symbolism, which really only is the main topic at the end. But man, the last 15 minutes is just pure horror.

This was better than the original. The action is ridiculously good. It’s still an American navy though. But I like how it relates to the original and that it at the same time doesn’t take itself too seriously. And again watched this in great company (with commentary) which made this all the more enjoyable.

Honestly, this is pretty great! It gets enough points for how this is made with marionettes. Totally over the top (or is it? ;)) and totally entertaining. America, fuck yeah!

I really had lots of fun watching this. If you have the right company, don’t take it seriously, it’s awesome. It’s in some way its own parody. And the action is indeed great I must say. Everything else is pretty cheesy. U-S-A, U-S-A!
Skate Aid Night 2023 just happened on Saturday. I went again and it is great to see how many people supported Skate Aid again to make kids strong through skateboarding and giving them a purpose. This time my daughter Luca joined me, which made me really happy. ☺️
Skate Aid and beyond tellerrand are partners for many years now and part of the ticket money always directly goes to Skate Aid to support their projects.
Reply via EmailBefore 2019 I visited Brighton every year for 13 years. Often more than just once a year. Events happening in Brighton are only a few these days. One of them is ffconf and I am looking forward to it!

Puh! I’m not quite sure if this is meant as a parody. If it is: ok, but it’s really over the top with lots of CGI and unnecessary action. I don’t know. A weird one.

A fantastic story (basically) about a teacher – who seems to be the only sane adult at that school – get singled out and blamed for what’s wrong at a school. It’s tragic and Leonie Benesch plays this absolutely brilliantly. The other cast is fantastic, too. So, I liked this a lot, and for some reason I thought this could have been longer and not be so open-ended.
Tom Arnold, who was attending border:none 10 years ago also, has written a nice recap of his experience last week at border:none in Nuremberg. Thank you Tom!
Reply via EmailJeremy Keith, one of the speakers at last weeks border:none, has written about the event Joschi and I organised. Thanks for that and thanks for being part of this little adventure.
At the end of the event there was some joking about returning in 2033. I love the idea of a conference that happens once every ten years. Count me in!
Well … see you in 2033! ;)
Reply via EmailMatthias Ott has written about our boder:none Event on his blog. Thanks a lot. Joschi and I had a great time running it!
Reply via EmailLast week Joschi Kuphal and I rand another edition of border:none, after we ran the very first edition in 2023. It was great fun, a really pleasure and absolutely wonderful. When I say “it”, I mean everything! Organising it with Joschi (and the team from tollwerk), listening to the mostly unexpected and very personal talks by all the speakers and chatting to and exchanging with the attendees. Thanks a lot for those days!

Florian Ziegler, who also always is part of beyond tellerrand, took some wonderful photos of the event.
This way, if you want to see impressions of how and what those two days in Nuremberg were

Now, I only need to get my arm fit again…

I'm not too much convinced about the premise: that Laurie – 40 years later – is still obsessed with Michael, and how he escapes (of course!) exactly on Halloween. And then it all peaks in this Home-Alone-ish finale.
But the suspense and slasher-action, the visuals, the soundtrack, the cast, is pretty good, I must say. So I still ended up well entertained.

Rambo just wanted to have lunch in that little town after he found out his comrade had recently died. And then he got persecuted and things escalated.
This really is a great movie, and I always think it has way more depth than its reputation might suggest. The action is great though.
