I have now integrated the photo journal feed directly into the main feed.

This saves me from manually creating a link post each time the photo journal has been updated.

And I updated both feeds. If you now have a whole bunch of unread articles in your feed reader, I’m sorry.

🎬 Everything Everywhere All at Once

Movie poster for “Everything Everywhere All at Once”.

Ok, I do not quite get the grand hype around this. It’s good, though: it’s like a modern or different take on Matrix. With a similar philosophical theme. It’s pretty funny in parts. The fight scenes are quite good. Dialogue is good. But it’s a bit long: the whole universe-switching gets a little distracting towards the end. But overall I can certainly recommend this!

🎬 Pig

I liked the overall theme and vibe of this movie. It's nicely filmed and Nic Cage is great. It could've been more focused and could have had more bite. Good!

Maybe if you manage to sympathise with the protagonist, you will feel different about this. But I didn’t, and so I found this pretty boring.

The end was really unexpected, though (which is a plus in my book).

🎬 Arrival

Wow. I wasn’t prepared for this much emotion. Much respect Mr. Villeneuve, what a beautiful film! Visually, sonically, emotionally. And the story really comes together nicely in the end. And Amy Adams plays her role so brilliantly! I could easily watch this again once I'm prepared for another onslaught of sadness.

🎬 The Return of the Living Dead

Movie poster for “The Return of the Living Dead”.

If you see past the partly questionable acting, this is a lot of fun. Quirky, gory, funny with a hint of seriousness and menace. Effects were great! I’m not sure if I like running and talking zombies, but I enjoyed this overall.

🎬 The Square

This one makes you think. There’s a lot going on, and I felt like it wants to say a lot. A bit too much maybe. I found his a bit long, yet still interesting. I enjoyed Force Majeure and especially Triangle of Sadness more.

🎬 Bronson

Movie poster for “Bronson”.

In the beginning, this had me excited to see where this is going. But then it’s a lot of the same throughout the film without much progression. But maybe that’s the point!? I don’t know. It’s indeed insanely well acted and very funny at times. And it’s certainly quite unique in how it’s filmed. Maybe this needs a rewatch.

🎬 Triangle of Sadness

Movie poster for “Triangle of Sadness”.

This was a wild cruise! An a damn entertaining one! Nothing too subtle going on: just bunch of filthy rich idiots getting what they deserve. Muahahaha. The captain’s dinner is incredible. With Refused’s "New Noise" as the perfect Soundtrack. In den Wolken!

The music section for the most part now features the Bandcamp embed instead of the one from Spotify. I find this to be much better, because you can listen to a whole album, even without account. And I actually prefer Bandcamp and have been using it more and more lately.

🎬 Rear Window

Movie poster for “Rear Window”.

Haven’t seen this in a long time. Was inspired to rewatch it by apodcast episode about it. Again liked it a lot. It’s remarkable, howwell this has aged in my opinion. The dialogue, the filming; thesupposed crime is actually pretty violent (you don’t see it, but theytalk about it). It’s an all around well-rounded affair. And it'sprobably worth another rewatch given all the little details in it.

🎬 Down by Law

Not Jarmusch’s best film, but entertaining none the less. RobertoBenigni was the best in this one.

🎬 Mystery Train

Lovely little episode-movie. Great humour (oh, the scene, where she’strying to make him laugh!), choreography (the plane in the window in thefirst shot of the second episode), visuals and soundtrack!

More Reasons Why I Run Events

I remember what some people “advised” when I started to run my Berlin edition for the very first time back in 2014, instead of growing the one in Düsseldorf. I received feedback from perhaps much smarter business people than myself, who suggested that I should expand my orig...
