The story is pretty conventional. But I was in the mood for that. Hassome cool effects and is fast-paced and entertaining.

A totally fine movie. Zoe liked it, but in my opinion it’s not the mostappropriate film for a five year old due to quite a few threateninggestures, themes and scenes.
Visiting the release page of Kirby 4 (right now in Alpha 5 – version 4 is planned for October roughly) makes me excited to upgrade and use some of the new features and improvements.
They write about the upgrades:
Kirby 4 will be built upon the healthy code base we established for Kirby 3. Upgrades will be comparable to a 3.x release. While we stay on the same architecture, this new version will bring many long-awaited features and is going to move your projects forward.
The new version will bring a new design with improvements for editors and developers, a new link field that can be used to create links to external URLs, internal pages, files, email addresses and telephone numbers and much much more.
Check the release page and the detailed list with information to everything that is announced yet.
Reply via EmailJust a few days before I went on a longer trip to Switzerland and Italy, Constantin and Moritz of the #wwsiv Podcast published the episode in which I had the pleasure to be their guest. It was a lovely chat (in German) and we chattet about event stuff surely, but also about a lot of other things. It was great fun to be their guest and if you like to hear more about where beyond tellerrand has its roots and why I started all this, then check in.
Thanks to Moritz and Constantin for inviting me.

Having just been to Bruges, it seemed fitting to watch In Bruges. I canconfirm it’s not a shithole. Fuckin‘ Bruges. That’s my kind of fuckin’film: quirky characters of a shady „occupation“, a bizarre yet coherentplot, with serious and funny elements, and overall very entertaining. All in just over 100 minutes.

Of course, Joaquin Phoenix is fantastic. And it is visually actuallypretty sweet. But oh man, it’s just 3 hours of absurdities. Way over thetop. Not really my thing.

Compared to Ana Lily Amirpour‘s other films, this was lacking. Somehow the setting and vibe didn’t get me as much. Worse dialogue, and too long. And I have to admit that I find realistic cannibal scenes quite repelling. I’d rather happily rewatch her other movies.

Prompted by Jeremy’s post on the topic, I’ve been trying out the brand new view transitions API for multi page apps – i.e. normal websites.
Since my previous CMS forestry.io stopped working, and its successor TinaCMS doesn‘t work with my setup, I replaced it with Decap CMS (previously Netflify CMS). I needed to add some CSS overrides, though, so it actually works on a small phone-sized screen – which to my suprise it didn’t out of the box.
Anyhow, I’m pretty pleased with the replacement and this is the first post using my new CMS.
As I noted once before, I really like this album, and especially Joe Haley’s guitar playing. But this also has great drumming, bass playing and vocals. All delivered with a heavy and clear sound. Also, look at that cover!
The return ride of the Big Muff pickup on a different route.
Since the beginning of April, I’ve been taking a break from freelancing. That means I currently don’t work for anyone else. And it’s been glorious so far! Instead of doing software development all day, I’ve really taken it easy and have done things I enjoy, wanted to do for a while, or simply had to get done – with plenty of time to do so.
