I just re-watched the two trailers that Andy Brügemann and Stefan Nitzsche released before the pandemic for their documentary about my beyond tellerrand (@btconf) events. And even though it feels strange to listen to myself or knowing there is a film to be released about what I do, I have to say, that I said many things that are still and always counting for me. I love to run these events from deep out of my heart and I am excited for what is coming. Despite the tough times all event organisers experience right now. Because the majority of people I know who run events, do it because it is their true passion. Thanks for each and everyone supporting this for more than 10 years now.
🎬 Iron Maiden: Flight 666

23 shows in 45 days all over the world. Made possible by using their ownplane, piloted by their singer Bruce Dickinson. You get to know the bandmembers – a very likeable bunch – and it includes live clips of theirhits. What’s not to like? Right: nothing!
🎧 Nest – BRUTUS
Finally developed some rolls of film again. It’s been months since the last time.
Made 1.5 litres of fresh fixer, got the 5-reel tank out of the cupboard and developed some HP5 @1600. One of those rolls was from back in December.
A second batch – 5 rolls of APX 400 – is also already hanging to dry. Feels good to make progress on that front again. (But let’s not talk about the scanning backlog or posting to the journal, ok!?)
🔗 Framed
Another fun daily movie guessing game. And an instant favourite!
🔗 Red Fang - Hellfest 2022– @ARTE Concert
Red Fang on this year’s Hellfest. The band rocks hard. The crowd goes wild. And all beautifully filmed and edited with great sound.
If you’re short on time, watch “Wires” in the middle of the set. Perfect!
🇫🇷 @Red Fang, c’est un groupe né à Portland, dans l’Oregon. La formation se compose de Brian Giles au chant et à la guitare, Aaron Beam au chant et à la ba...

As far as Zombies movies go, this certainly does not deviate from the usual plot. But the Zombies are filmed in an interesting way, emphasising their insanity and speed. I prefer my Zombies rather slow and clumsy, though. But this definitely had some good scenes! Some special effects were sub-par unfortunately. But overall I was well entertained. The characters were good, and I liked the sad yet beautiful ending.

🎧 The Art of Partying – Municipal Waste
“Municipal Waste is gonna FUCK YOU UP! Municipal Waste is gonna FUCK YOU UP!”
Those guys are always delivering a good mood. You wanna crack one open and then party along. Plus, their bass player – Land Phil – also has a mean sound.
🎧 Muse Bass Tab Collection – Muse
I was looking for bass inspiration – both for playing and sound – and decided to check out Muse’s Chris Wolstenhome in more detail. And I ended up listening to that playlist quite a bit recently.
🎬 Cube

I thought this had potential. But it was a little boring I’m afraid.Predictable, average acting and the constant wide-angle shots wereannoying. I’m probably too critical, I’m sorry.
I am Back
🔗 Metal Heardle
A household favourite at the moment and part of our morning routine.
Guess the metal song from the intro in as few tries as possible.
Last minute – on Sunday – I bought a ticket for the TOOL concert last Tuesday at Lanxess Arena in Köln. A great decision! What a fantastic (live) band!
Loved how they partly looked at each other to coordinate (or recoordinate) some parts, and how everyone operated their own pedal board and effects. And, of course, how they played their instruments. And I was pretty close at the side of the stage to see a lot of what was going on.
Easily one of the best gigs I’ve been to, and absolutely worth the money!
🎥 Foo Fighters - White Limo guitar cover
Played this song recently with friends for another friend’s birthday jam. And I wanted to record this real quick. This song is really fun to play. But not easy, mainly due to all the string-skipping, muting and timing. And you can unfortunatly see this in this take.
Recently the magical Moises app was recommended to me, and that’s what I used to play the backing track. The app removed the guitar tracks for me, so that I can play over the rest of the band. Crazily good!
🔗 Jack White - Zane Lowe & Apple Music 'Fear Of The Dawn’ Interview
Always inspiring to listen to Jack White. And I learned there’s a Third Man Records Store in London now. For sure going to visit that one next time I’m there!

It feels just right that Thomasin survives her naive religious family. I'm sorry for her siblings, but the parents just deserved to die. For god's sake, they had glass windows back home in England. "Glass windows"!!1! Who in his right mind leaves behind *that* and puts themselves in a dire situation like this!??
🔗 I Am That Thirst Analysis
A great analysis of my favourite song from the latest Meshuggah album. Love how he uses his fingers to illustrate it all!
I rarely dissect Meshuggah songs like this. But it’s good to sometimes have other people doing that for you.
🎧 FEAR OF THE DAWN – Jack White
Always checking out Jack’s new outputs. Almost always enjoying his guitar playing, sounds and songs. My favourite Song so far is the closing track “Shedding My Velvet”. A drum beat like this always gets me; and the guitar parts are fantastic, too. Have I written enough “always”-es, yet?
